The Marshalltown Bobcat Special Olympics co-ed basketball team played in the Western Central Special Olympics Basketball Tournament beating Atlantic 42-18 as Aaron Bracy led the offense with nine points. They then went on to defeat the Iowa School for the Deaf 27-18 as Bracy and Edwin Herrada each scored 12 points.

The Green Mountain-Garwin Wolverines rolled to an easy victory in the 98-48 romp over Benton-Norway as Jerrid Ware pumped in 31 points, Tim Mull added 18 and David Beck hit for 14 points.

Writing a love letter to one of your teachers and then having it graded for errors was too much for student Alice Blake, played by Diana Helmer. The teacher, Paul Barringer, a frustrated writer who teaches for the money, is played by Don Albert in the MHS production of “Up the Down Staircase.
