Noon Kiwanis hears from district governor

The Kiwanis Club of Marshalltown “Noon” held its weekly luncheon meeting Tuesday at the American Legion Hall, 1301 S. Sixth St.

President Linda Dodd Smith called the meeting to order. Gene Neven read the news and weather. An invocation was led by Linda Smith.

Guests of the club introduced were Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District Governor Andy Bradley and his wife Jenny and Division 10 Lieutenant Governor, Tom Lloyd and his wife Edith who is Division 10 Lieutenant Governor Elect.

Happy Dollars was donated by Deane Adams, Gene Neven and Linda Dodd Smith

Tom Lloyd introduced Gov. Andy Bradley who shared an update about Kiwanis in Nebraska and Iowa. Bradley is optimistic about the future and is extremely excited about Kiwanis Aktion Clubs. Aktion Clubs are for adults with disabilities. A new formula for membership will be implemented soon.

Donations of $34 were collected for the Under Privileged Children’s Fund. Next week a program about genealogy will be presented by Jay Carollo.
