Marshalltown York Rite bodies install officers

On Tuesday, members and guests of Signet Chapter No. 38, R.A.M.; King Solomon Council No. 20, R. & S.M. and St. Aldemar Commandery No. 30, K.T. gathered to celebrate the installation of their 2017 officers.

A pork loin dinner was provided by Gregory Andersen who was assisted by Benjamin Mayer. The activities then moved to the Lodge Hall where 2016 Eminent Commander Russell Saffell welcomed the assembled and called the meeting to order. St. Aldemar Commandery members presented the flag of the United States.

David M. Dryer, Past Right Eminent Grand Commander, Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa, officiated over the ceremony for all three Marshalltown York Rite bodies and was assisted by Berdette O. Bryngelson, installing marshal; Wade E. Sheeler as installing chaplain and Gregory L. Andersen, installing secretary.

The 2017 leaders of the three York Rite organizations and their titles are Steven E. Smith, Excellent High Priest of Signet Chapter No. 38, R.A.M.; Donald D. Lynk, Illustrious Master of King Solomon Council No. 20, R. & S.M. and John M. Klaus, Eminent Commander of St. Aldemar Commandery No. 30, K.T.

The regular January stated meeting was held immediately following the ceremony. It was opened in Chapter with Smith presiding. All three groups meet together on the third Tuesday evening of each month and alternate in opening each meeting.
