Entre Nous hears program on L.U.N.A.

Entre Nous Club met at Binford House on May 2 for its last regular luncheon meeting of the 2016-17 year. There were 11 members and two guests present. Hostesses were Marlys Ankrum and Audrey Hafar.

President Mary Lou Tappe opened the meeting with members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and The American’s Creed. Minutes were approved as read and two letters were read under correspondence. Donna Barton gave the treasurer’s report.

Under new business the secretary was given authority to purchase a new secretary’s notebook.

Members voted to give a monetary donation to the Marshall County Conservation Board for the Leonard Grimes Amphitheater at the GrimesFarm.

Nancy Stone and Michelle Roseborrough reported on upcoming events at Binford House.

Miriam Bryant announced that the “spring outing” will be a trip to tour “Hens and Chicks” in Conrad on June 7.

Pat Gourley installed the officers for the 2017-18 year. They are: Bryant-president; Ankrum-vice president; Eleanor Stegmann-secretary; Barton-treasurer; Deb Mason and Roseborrough-class leaders.

The program was presented by Jody Bowden-Fuentes and Monica Dirks, representing L.U.N.A., Latinas United for a New Dawn.

Their mission is to empower, educate and advocate for victims/survivors of violence and sexual assault in the community. Services are offered to all to all who seek assistance regardless of race, gender, country of origin, religion, language or economic situation.
