Sewing Guild Garage Sale set for June 17

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Displayed is an example of taking a man’s shirt and repurposing it into a hoodie. This type of sewing challenge will be explored at the Central Iowa Sewing Guild from 9-11 a.m. on June 17 in Huxley.

HUXLEY — Central Iowa Sewing Guild will host a Sewing Challenge and Fabric/Sewing Garage Sale from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., for the general public, on June 17 at Trinity Methodist Church in Huxley. It’s sewing challenge time! What can you create from men’s old dress shirts? Put on your creative cap and reinvent an old shirt (or several) into something new. Make a garment, home dec piece, children’s item…anything you like.

Fabric & Sewing Garage Sale, out with the old stash, in with the new stash. Buy best fabric at the best prices during the Chapter meeting garage sale. The guild will donate 20 percent of each sale to the Central Iowa Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. Don’t miss this chance to find that perfect fabric.

Open to the public 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. No early sales. Sale hours 9-11 a.m. for Guild members and their guests only. This meeting will not include a free table.
