Binford Barn Sale is July 22
The Marshalltown Federation of Women’s Club Board has made plans for the next Binford Barn Sale, 110 N. Second Ave., behind Binford House, to be from 8-11 a.m. on July 22, the same hours as the Farmer’s Market at the Cartright Pavillion next door. The donations of nice kitchen utensils, dishes and glasses along with attractive home decorative items of lamps, glass decorative items, linens, pictures and miscellaneous are for sale to help maintain, protect and decorate Binford House. Should anyone want to donate items they can call 641-752-5450. The board meeting was held June 8 with David Giese, president, presiding with nine members present.
Mary Giese made a proposal to the board of selling her color photo cards with envelopes of Binford House outside, inside and house events with the profits to benefit the renovation of the second floor of Binford House. The photo cards will sell for $6 each at events held at the house. The board made the decision to approve this fundraiser with appreciation of sharing her photography talents and interest in promoting this historical house. Those interested in purchasing them outside of an event can call 641-753-5450.
The board hosted 12 Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on June 13 to showcase the 2015 south ramp for use by anyone and new appliances of dishwashers, warming oven and wall oven.
The final plans for the Watersdown Affair Mystery Dinner event were made for June 24 at Binford House for 32 costumed guests. This fundraising event will be to reroof the carriage house at Binford House.
