Slinker presented with Quilt of Valor
Laurie Wanken of the Conrad American Legion Auxiliary Unit 681, presents a Quilts of
Valor to veteran Bob Slinker which she made. Slinker was inducted into the Navy in 1944 and
took basic training in Idaho. He was a navigator giving signals with flags to boats after training
in Bainbridge, Md. During World War II he served in New York, Florida, the Panama Canal and
