Court

• Kenneth Allen Drumm made an initial appearance on two counts of a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 6. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Natasha Winter Gallegos made an initial appearance on two counts of a pre-trial release violation charge and a failure to file a written arraignment charge. District Associate Court will schedule the next court dates. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Juan Hernandez made an initial appearance on two counts of a violation of probation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Thomas A. Niehus made an initial appearance on two counts of a violation of probation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Niehus is being held without bond.

• Jose Luis Ramirez Cardenas made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, a failure to affix a drug tax stamp charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 6. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Timothy Lee Warnell made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Arrests

• On Friday, Oct. 27, Juan Hernandez, 42, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, Michael Liskowiak, 52, was arrested for illegal burning.

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, Ramon Avalos, 27, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, Thomas Niehus, 24, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, a car driven by Elias Alvarado Alvarado, 56, of Ottumwa, was northbound on South Center Street when it broadsided a car driven by Clara Hinders, 90, of Marshalltown, which made a left turn on Center Street crossing the path of the Alvarado Alvarado car. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hinders car was estimated at $3,500 while the Alvarado Alvarado car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, a car driven by Cathy Jenell Pearson, 54, of Marshalltown, was exiting the Kwik Star parking lot on South Center Street when it received hit and run damage from a green pickup that proceeded to run a red light and head south on Center Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pearson car was estimated at $2,500.

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, a car driven by a 16-year-old female from Marshalltown was northbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a minivan drive by Gabriela Zavala, 34, of Marshalltown, which was stopped for a red light. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, Jose Ramirez-Cardenas, 30, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and possession of a controlled substance.

• On Thursday, Oct. 26, Natasha Winter Gallegos, 29, was arrested on a warrant.

Oct. 22

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two heat detector activations due to malfunction at 406 Summit St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 309 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd., 15 N. 11th Ave., 407 W. Church St., 504 W. Church St., 1015 S. Center St., 407 W. Church St., and 513 Bromley S.

Oct. 21

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 514 E. Olive St., 620 Jerome St., and two at 407 W. Church St.

Oct. 20

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 805 E. State St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 1505 Laurel Drive, and 706 W. Southridge Road.

Oct. 19

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 122 W. Main St., South Center Street, 135 W. Main St., 107 W. State St., 308 Bromley St., 114 N. Center St.

Oct. 18

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a good intent call to 304 S. 16th Ave., an unintentional transmission of alarm at 2306 S. Center St., an electrical wiring problem at 104 W. State St., and 14 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 216 Glenda Drive, 703 Bromley St., 907 W. Boone St., 1211 W. State St., 211 W. Church St., 2700 Governor Road, 3120 S. Second St., 2204 Dubois Circle, 108 S. Fifth Ave., 203 1/2 N. Fourth St., 614 E. Anson St., 2103 S. Sixth St., 613 Summit St., and 3202 S. 12th St.

Oct. 17

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle on North Ninth Street and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 208 Glenda Drive, 1602 S. Second Ave., 111 N. Seventh St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 1505 Summit St., 309 N. Third St., 101 Columbus Drive, 503 W. Linn St., and 506 E. Anson St.

Oct. 16

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two good intent calls to 208 S. Third St., and Sixth Street, a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 1602 S. Second Ave., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 208 Glenda Drive, 309 S. First St., 802 S. Sixth St., 113 Bohen St., and 407 W. Church St.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Monday, Oct. 23, Blake Hoeppner, 25, of Cedar Falls, was arrested by Ft. Dodge Correctional Facility authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with domestic abuse assault. Hoeppner was transported to Grundy Center for court and released on his promise to appear.

• On Friday, Oct. 20, Autumn Wildebour, 35, of Reinbeck, was arrested on a Black Hawk County warrant charging her with probation violation. Wildebour was released to Black Hawk County authorities.

• On Friday, Oct. 13, Jason Wright, 38, of Evansdale, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with contempt of court. Wright posted bond and was released.

Accidents

• On Friday, Oct. 20, a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old male from New Providence was northbound on Vernon Street in Conrad when it went through a stop sign and broadsided a vehicle driven by a 14-year-old male from Conrad which was eastbound on Maple Street. No injuries were reported. The 15-year-old juvenile was cited for failure to obey a stop or yield sign. Damage to the 15-year-old’s vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the 14-year-old juvenile’s vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.
