• Sarah Perales made an initial appearance through a Sign Language interpreter on four counts of prohibited acts-forgery of a prescription for oxycodone on four different dates and for a prohibited act on a fifth date. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 22. Perales was released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Alex Martinez made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 13. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Alesha Lorraine Sanders made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a failure to file SR-22 insurance charge, a operating while intoxicated-third or subsequent offense charge, a driving while barred charge, an unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge, a operating without an interlock device charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a failure to maintain control charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 9. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. • Harold Andrew Lathrop made an initial appearance on a possession of contraband in a correctional facility charge, a driving while barred charge and a leaving the scene of an accident with injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 13. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Ryan Snyder made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by District Court. Snyder is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Joseph Wade Bown made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a criminal mischief-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 22. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Jermaine Archie Oden made an initial appearance on a reckless use of a firearm charge and a failure to maintain control charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 22. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Gregory John Paglia made an initial appearance on a trespass-first offense charge. Paglia pleaded guilty and the fine is $200 with a $70 surcharge, $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $455, due within 30 days.

• Estela Ibarra Lizarde made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a dog at large charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 in Magistrate Court.

• Victoria Dawn Honts made an initial appearance on a no proof of vaccination charge and a dog at large charge. Honts pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine for the no vaccination is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Amber Zobroski made an initial appearance on a unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Zobroski pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, a burglary was reported in the 1700 block of South Seventh Avenue.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, a theft of motor vehicle was reported in the 400 block of Hughes Street.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, a hit and run accident-property damage only was reported in the 300 block of East State Street.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, Jose Manuel Oregel Ordaz, 26, was cited for open container and no valid driver’s license.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, Harold Andrew Lathrop, 43, was cited for introducing intoxicants or drugs into an institution and on a warrant from another county.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, Aren James Honeick, 43, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, Harold Lathrop, 43, was arrested for introducing intoxicants or drugs into a correctional facility, a warrant from another county, leaving the scene of an accident-injury and driving while barred.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, Vorshayn Ware, 36, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended and driving under suspension-habitual offender.

• On Thursday, Nov. 2, Ryan Snyder, 27, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two medical assists with the EMS crew to 2309 Knollway Drive, and 1304 Greenbriar Lane.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 607 N. First Ave., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2700 Smith Ave., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 403 1/2 S. First St., 1301 Summit St., 510 W. Church St., two at 207 W. Meadow Lane, 108 S. Second St., 307 S. Second St., and 108 S. Second St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victim from vehicle on North Wallace Avenue, a breakdown of light ballast at 13 W. Main St., a carbon monoxide incident at 11 W. Grant St., a smoke or odor removal at 304 Woodbury St., an extrication or rescue in the 1800 block of North Highway 14, and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 209 N. First Ave., 407 W. Church St., 909 S. Seventh Ave., 1211 W. State St., 9 N. Fourth Ave., 915 Finkle Ave., and 1 W. Grant St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a brush or brush-grass mixture fire at 1802 S. Seventh Ave., two alarm system sounded due to malfunction at 202 E. Church St., and 811 E. Main St., an overpressure rupture from steam at 125 S. 11th St., and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1500 Lincoln Tower Circle, 1606 Summit St., 1501 E. Nevada St., 305 W. • The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 1301 Summit St., an outside rubbish fire at 1303 Marshall Drive, and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 111 N.
