• Mang Min Sang made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, an improper use of median charge and a open container charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 22. Sang is released on his promise to appear. An order to be photographed and fingerprinted on this case is to be accomplished by 12 p.m. on Jan. 5. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Alexis Melendez Cotto made an initial appearance on a speeding charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Cotto pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and the fine is $80 with a $28 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $168. The no valid driver’s license charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed. All payments are due within 30 days.
