Arrests

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Daniel Garr, 37, was arrested for two counts of sex offender registry violation-second or subsequent offense, of a warrant and domestic abuse assault-serious-minor injury.

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Joleen Wanatee, 40, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Paul Poppe, 32, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Cheryl Bolen, 45, was arrested for assault on persons in certain occupations-bodily injury/mental illness.

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Tori Sprague, 37, was arrested for theft-second degree and ongoing criminal conduct.

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Jeremy Odom, 36, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Sunday, Feb. 4, a car driven by Alex Bovee, 22, of Marshalltown, was westbound in the 700 block of Summit Street when it went around several parked vehicle too widely and collided with the front of a car driven by Tha Tin Ham, 35, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Bovee was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two way highway. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Friday, Feb. 2, a semi driven by Christopher Hunter Wright, 22, of Talladega, Ala., was eastbound on East Main Street stopped at the intersection with Eighth Avenue. The driver proceeded forward at the time a pickup driven by Daniel Gonzalez-Hernandez, 22, of Marshalltown, turned left crossing the path of the semi resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Gonzalez-Hernandez was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Gonzalez-Hernandez pickup was estimated at $5,000 while the Wright semi received an estimated $4,000 in damage. The semi was rigged with a camera and the police are waiting to view the footage before closing the case.

• On Friday, Feb. 2, a car driven by Lori Rae Pantoja, 51, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on East Main Street when it came upon a pizza delivery vehicle stopped in her lane. As she attempted to go around the vehicle the driver, Francisco Javier Alvarez, 36, turned into the path of her car and a collision resulted. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Tuesday, Jan. 30, a car driven by Abigail Jean Horn, 30, of Melbourne, was eastbound on Main Street when the passenger side mirror came in contact with the arm of a male pedestrian crossing the street. The man was taken to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Horn was cited for failure to yield to pedestrian’s right of way.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, Feb. 7, a pickup driven by Kenneth Haynes, 52, of Gilliam, Mo., was westbound on Highway 20 when the pickup went out of control on an ice covered overpass, jumped the guard rails and camper trailer overturned. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Haynes pickup and camper were estimated at $30,000. The accident remains under investigation.

• On Tuesday, Feb. 6, a car driven by Madison Backstrom, 25, of Cedar Falls, was southbound on U Avenue, approximately three miles south of New Hartford, when it went out of control on the snow covered roadway, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a car driven by a 17-year-old male from New Hartford. Both drivers were taken to Sartori Hospital in private vehicles for minor injuries. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $5,000 while the Backstrom car received an estimated $10,000 in damage.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a steam or other gas mistaken for smoke at 2105 S. Center St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 211 S. Third St., 810 W. Main St. 308 W. Meadow Lane, 701 N. Fifth Ave., 1 W. Grant St., 407 W. Church St., and 15 N. 11th Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 3200 E67 (Gilman), an unauthorized burning at 807 Woodbury St., a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 20 W. State St., a natural vegetation fire at 6 E. Grant St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 407 W. Church St., 9 S. Seventh St., 16 Iowa Ave. West, 810 S. Sixth Ave., 3101 S. Center St., 219 E. Anson St., and 1211 W. State St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 2802 S. Center St., two motor vehicle accidents with no injuries at 700 E. Main St., and 508 E. Main St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 206 Nicholas Drive, 605 Thunderbird Drive, and 1211 W. State St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 8 S. Fifth Ave., two dispatched/cancelled en routes to Abbott Avenue and 140th Street (Gladbrook), and 710 N. Fourth St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 308 N. Second St., 503 E. Church St., 511 N. 12th Ave., 514 E. Olive St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 308 Sugar Plum Lane, and 1001 Iowa Ave. West.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 107 N. Ninth St., an unintentional transmission of alarm at 212 W. Ingledue St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 604 E. Church St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 202 N. Second Ave., 310 Orchard Drive, 507 Highland Drive, 509 N. 16th St., 2004 S. Sixth St., 509 N. 16th St., 503 E. Church St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide detector activation due to malfunction at 11 S. 16th St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 533 N. Third St., 401 1/2 W. State St., 1407 W. Linn St., 4 E. Main St., 403 E. Southridge Road, 201 E. Main St., and 514 E. Olive St.
