• Bradd Alan Quigley made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a tax stamp violation charge, a felon in possession of a firearm charge and a prohibited acts charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 23. Bond is set at $100,000 cash only. Upon release, Quigley will have 60 days to complete a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court.

• Brian Wayne Wengert, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Wengert is being held without bond. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Alejandro Garcia Jiminez made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a possession of a controlled substance-meth-first offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a violation of a restricted license charge and a driving under suspension charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 2. Garcia Jiminez is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Tyson Bryant Peters made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 2. Peters is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Zachary Douglas Anderson, of Reinbeck, made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge, two counts of a child endangerment charge, a driving while barred charge and a reckless driving charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28. Anderson is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Clinton Bates Squire made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, an operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, an open container charge and a speeding charge. Squire will represent himself before the court. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 2. Squire is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• James Dean Youngbear, of Tama, made an initial appearance on two counts of a driving under suspension charge, a speeding charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance charge. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 30 in Magistrate Court.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 26 S. First Ave., a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 125 S. 11th St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 190th and Eastman Avenue, and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 533 N. Third St., 213 E. Southridge Road, 3009 Arnold Drive, and 1304 Greenbriar Lane.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 610 W. State St., a system malfunction at 200 S. 12th Ave., a HazMat release investigation with no HazMat found at 2006 Blossom Lane, an alarm system activation-no fire-unintentional at 2902 S. Center St., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 202 N. Second Ave., 1109 W. State St., 202 N. Second Ave., 408 N. First St., 533 N. Third St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 206 W.
