• Brittaney Ann Hansen made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. She pleaded not guilty. Chad Frese is appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Dec. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Kristin Renae Story made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50, due within 30 days.

Friday

• Coltyn Garrett Miller made an initial appearance on a trespass charge and a criminal mischief-third degree charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Timothy Lee Warnell made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a no insurance charge. Jeffrey Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22.

• Omar Rico Alba made an initial appearance on a serving alcohol to minors charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days.

• Luis Miguel Madrigal Roman made an initial appearance on a possession with intent to deliver or manufacture methamphetamine charge, a failure to affix a drug tax stamp charge, a possession of a controlled substance charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 12. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety. Upon release Madrigal Roman will have 60 days to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court.

• Raqwon Jerel Reed made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge, a failure to use a child restraint device charge, a speeding charge and a no insurance charge. Jeffrey Hazen is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing for the violation of a no-contact order charge is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 12. Reed pleaded guilty to the other charges. On the failure to use a child restraint charge the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. The fine on the speeding charge is $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87. On the no insurance charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. All payments are due within 30 days. Reed was released on his promise to appear. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Reed is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Christopher Dean Arment made an initial appearance on a domestic assault-strangulation charge and a domestic assault charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. Arment is released on his promise to appear. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Arment is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Chase Marcus Brown made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-second offense charge, a driving under suspension charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a speeding charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Aaron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days.

• Randy Joe Rosenbalm Jr. made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, a failure to maintain control charge and a no insurance charge. Merrill Swartz is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days.

• Natalie Jean Purdy made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days.

• Madison Marie Edwinson made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge. Aaron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. Accidents

• On Wednesday, Nov. 16, a minivan driven by Emilio Jimenez Martinez, of Marshalltown, was south-westbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jimenez Martinez minivan was estimated at $3,000.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 15, a Jeep driven by Deborah Cantellis Green, of Conrad, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Green Jeep was estimated at $8,000.
