Arrests

• On Monday, Richard Jonathan Million II was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Monday, Tearstyn Ann Zitzow was arrested for driving while revoked.

Accidents

• On Monday, a car driven by Darlinda Jean Stevens, of Marshalltown, pulled onto Iowa Avenue West from a parking lot and collided with a pickup driven by Joyce Rae Hughes, of Marshalltown, which was traveling westbound on Iowa Avenue. No injuries were reported. Stevens was cited for failure to yield upon entering through highway. Damage to the Stevens car was estimated at $2,000 while the Hughes pickup received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Sunday, a pickup driven by Yoana Lizeth Lugo Cortez, of Marshalltown, was driving over the Center Street viaduct when the icy road conditions caused it to strike the concrete guard barrier and come to a stop. A pickup driven by Trent Alan Potter, of Marshalltown, witnessed the accident and stopped resulting in a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old female from Marshalltown colliding with the rear of the pickup as a result of the icy road condition. A car driven by Kaw Lar Poe, of Des Moines, collided with the rear of the Jeep and then left the scene. Police stopped the Poe car a few blocks away. No injuries were reported. Poe was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. Damage to the Lugo Cortez and the Potter pickups were estimated at $2,000 each while the juvenile’s Jeep and the Poe car each sustained an estimated $4,500 in damage.

• On Sunday, a car driven by Chan Kep, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on West State Street when it turned north onto Fourth Street, went out of control driving over the curb onto the lawn side swiping one tree and hitting a second square on before leaving the area and continuing to 206 N. Third St. No injuries were reported. Kep was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Kep car was estimated at $4,000.

• On Sunday, a car driven by Barb Ann Cobb, of Conrad, was southbound on South Center Street in the inside lane when it attempted to change lanes and collided with a car driven by Yohni Villa Rodriguez, of Marshalltown, also traveling south. No injuries were reported. Cobb was cited for improper use of lanes. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

• On Sunday, a minivan driven by Manuel Gonzalez-Toledo, of Marshalltown, was westbound on State Street when it ran a red light at the intersection with North 12th Avenue and collided with a vehicle driven by Charles Lewis Gummert, of Marshalltown, which was already in the intersection. No injuries were reported. Gonzalez-Toledo was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and no insurance. Damage to the Gonzalez-Toledo minivan was estimated at $1,500 while the Gummert vehicle received an estimated $500 in damage.

• Breanna A. Bly made an initial appearance on three warrants charging her with failure to appear for pre-trial conferences. This has been turned over to the District Court from where the warrants were issued.

• Elsiedig Ali Ali made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a speeding charge. The driving under suspension was amended to an expired driver’s license charge to which Ali pleaded guilty. The fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. When proof of insurance was produced, the no insurance was dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed. Ali pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and the fine was $40 with a $14 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $114. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Andres Miguel Saucedo made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 60 days.
