• Hector Varela Jr. made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a trial on an operating while intoxicated case with companion charges and on a possession of a controlled substance-second offense charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. A preliminary hearing on the possession charge is set at 1 p.m. on Jan. 25. Varela is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days. The trial is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Feb. 16 with a pre-trial conference rescheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 3. The bond posted for the warrant will continue until the conclusion of this case.

• Daniel Warnell made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 25. Warnell is released on his promise to appear.

• Rikki Lynn Holman made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge and a forgery charge. Holman will represent herself in this case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 25. Holman is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within the next five days and sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Troy D. Laughlin made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with probation violation. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Jan. 30. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Nicholas Morgan made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Darrell Meyer is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by Morgan’s parole officer. Morgan is being held without bond.

• Lucas Catherwood made an initial appearance on a introducing drugs-meth into a correctional facility charge, a possession of methamphetamine charge, three theft-fifth degree charges and a criminal mischief-fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the drug related charges. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. On the theft charges and the criminal mischief charge, Catherwood pleaded guilty to all charges. On the first two theft charges the fines are $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 on each charge plus restitution if applicable. On the last theft charge and the criminal mischief charge, the fines are $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 plus service of warrant fee and restitution if applicable. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Omar Sanchez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension-unpaid fines charge and a no insurance charge. Aaron Vaughn is appointed as counsel on the driving while barred charge. The preliminary hearing on that charge is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 25. The other two charges are set for a rocket docket pre-trial conference at 9 a.m. on Jan. 27 in Magistrate Court. Sanchez is released on his promise to appear.

• Heather Bell made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge and an unlawful possession of prescription drug charge and on a warrant for probation revocation. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 25. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Cole David Tesar was found guilty of striking fixtures and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Banak Kong was found guilty in Magistrate Court and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Melissa Hayward made an initial appearance on a compulsory education charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Feb. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Ralph Ray Rozevink made an initial appearance on three counts of a violation of restrictions on taking game-deer and turkey charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Feb. 22 in Magistrate Court.

• James Hodson made an initial appearance on a failure to yield upon entering highway charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Feb. 15 in Magistrate Court.

• Kevin Mancera made an initial appearance on a possession or purchase of alcohol under legal age charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Feb. 8 in Magistrate Court.

• Luis Ramirez made an initial appearance on a possession or purchase of alcohol under legal age charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Feb. 8 in Magistrate Court.
