Tuesday

• Stephen Craig Hatfield, of Liscomb, made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault while using a dangerous weapon charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 24. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Hatfield is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Jill Weitzell made an initial appearance on a probation revocation request. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Weitzell is being held without bond.

• Tressa Voss, of Bellevue, Neb., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Jeremiah Geffe was appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Voss was released on her promise to appear. If she owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Voss is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Eli Andrew Wildman, of Le Grand, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, a failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way charge, a driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a open container charge. Wildman will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 6. Wildman was released on his promise to appear.

Arrests

• On Sunday, Quinne Crittle, 21, of Chicago, Ill., was arrested on Highway 20 east of Highway 14 on a Webster County warrant charging him with failure to appear. Crittle posted bond and was released.

• On Feb. 8, Michael Johns, 27, of Grundy Center, was arrested at his home on a Marshall County warrant charging him with failure to report to the Department of Corrections for pre-trial supervision. While at his residence, Johns was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johns posted bond on both offenses.

• On Feb. 8, Darwin Harms, 56, of Wellsburg, was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. Harms is being held on no bond.

• On Feb. 6, Cody Izer, 20, of Iowa Falls, was arrested at the Grundy County Courthouse on a Hardin County warrant charging him with burglary-third degree. Izer was released to the Hardin County authorities.

• On Feb. 5, Ramiro Ramirez-Martinez, 50, of Marshalltown, was arrested on Highway 14 south of 280th Street and charged with operating while intoxicated-first offense and two counts of child endangerment. Ramirez-Martinez posted bond and was released.

Sunday

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 309 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd., and Highway 330, three building fire calls to 107 S. Seventh Ave., nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1603 Iowa Ave. West, 330 S. Center St., 3901 S. Center St., 1600 S. Center St., 311 W. Nevada St., 1301 Summit St., 109 Byron St., 107 College View Lane, and 206 N. Center St.

Saturday

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1301 Summit St., 1211 W. State St., 2802 S. Center St., 1301 Summit St., and 309 W. Boone St.

Friday

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 201 N. Second Ave., 206 N. Center St., 1606 S. Fifth St., 3120 S. Second St., 2510 S. Sixth St., and 1911 S. Center St.

Thursday

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 701 Arlington Drive, 1401 S. 17th Ave., 104 W. Webster St., 405 E. Anson St., and 806 W. Lincoln Way.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a cooking fire confine to container at 206 W. Ferner St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 106 E. North St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 210 S. 14th Ave., 206 Nicholas Drive, and 2010 Stratford Lane.

Feb. 7

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 401 E. Ferner St., 103 S. 12th St., 514 E. Olive St., and 909 1/2 E. South St.

Feb. 6

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 100 block of East Madison Street and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 218 Pleasantview Road, 2104 S. Fifth St., 101 Iowa Ave. West, and 606 W. Lincoln Way.

Arrests

• On Saturday, Melissa Rose Harris was arrested on two warrants.

Accidents

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Kim Lee Goecke, of Union, was westbound on Marble Road nearing the intersection with Jessup Avenue when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck causing functional front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Goecke vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
