April 3

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to unauthorized burning at 504 N. Third Ave., extrication of victims from vehicle in the 800 block of East State Street, an alarm system activation-no fire-unintentional at 105 N. Center St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 210 N. 12th St., 206 Taft St., 802 S. Center St., 2401 S. Second St., and 1211 W. State St.

April 4

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 402 Sunset Lane, an outside rubbish fire at 535 N. Second St., an unintentional transmission of alarm at 104 S. Eighth Ave., and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 107 Bohen St., Anson Street, 212 Ingledue St., 308 N. Second St., 207 N. 16th St., 1211 W. State St., 505 N. 14th Ave., 402 Sunset Lane, and 3202 S. 12th St.

April 5

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to HazMat release investigation with no HazMat at 308 S. 14th Ave., a gas leak at 1203 W. Church St., and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3202 S. 12th St., 1301 Summit St., 1507 E. Nevada St., 428 W. High St., 403 S. Second St., 105 N. Center St., 207 Grant St., 408 N. 13th Ave., 308 N. Second St.

April 6

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 2850 240th St., an unintentional transmission of alarm at 50 Lafrentz Lane, a service call to the 10 block of North Center Street, a motor vehicle accident-no injuries at 1519 W. Main St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 8 W. Webster St., and three at 108 S. Second St.

April 7

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two outside rubbish fires at 504 N. Third Ave., and 401 E. South St., a good intent call to 305 NewCastle Road, a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 1002 S. Third Ave., a citizen complaint at 10 N. Seventh Ave., a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 900 block of East Marion Street and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1520 S. Sixth St., 609 W. Church St., 203 N. Third St., 1301 Summit St., 2209 S. Third Ave., 108 S. Second St., 231 N. 13th St., and 206 Nicholas Drive.

April 8

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1700 Canfield Ave., and 12 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3300 S. 12th Ave., 1602 S. Second Ave., 308 E. Boone St., 508 E. Main St., 311 S. Second St., 134 E. Main St., 609 W. Church St., 304 Sharon Ave., 308 E. Boone St., 1606 W. Lincolnway, South Sixth Street Complex and 1602 S. Second Ave.

April 9

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two outside rubbish fires at 719 N. Fourth Ave., and 1010 E. Anson St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to the 2600 block of Highway 30 and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 204 Rainbow Drive, 1811 S. 18th Ave., 906 W. Nevada St., 1231 E. Madison St., and 206 Nicholas Drive.

Accidents

• On Thursday, April 6, a car driven by Joshua James Pehl, of Des Moines, was westbound on West Main Street Road approaching the curve to go south onto Eastman Road when the car left the roadway, entered the west ditch and rolled over onto its side. Pehl was checking his GPS and didn’t realize how tight the curve was. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pehl car was estimated at $9,000.

• On Saturday, April 8, a minivan driven by Dakota Michael Mills, of Nevada, was northbound on Canfield Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it started to enter the east ditch, was over-corrected, crossed the road and entered the west ditch where it rolled and came to rest on its top. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mills minivan was estimated at $2,500.

• On Thursday, April 13, Wyatt James Stonewall was arrested on a warrant.
