Local woman faces marijuana delivery charge

A Marshalltown woman was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and a host of driving-related offenses according to Marshall County District Court records.

Tanya Eileen Perry was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff’s office earlier this month. Additionally, she was charged with Driving Under Suspension, second offense, Speeding, No valid driver’s license and no insurance. Her preliminary hearing is 1 p.m. on June 19.

Man charged with child endangerment.

A local man was arrested by Marshalltown police earlier this week on Child endangerment causing bodily injury – a Class D felony and a domestic abuse assault charge. Robert Lee Cain, 29, also faces a separate Child Endangerment charge and Disorderly Conduct charge.

“One of the victims called the MPD and requested assistance,” said Chief Mike Tupper. “Officers went to a residence in the 800 block of South Center Street. After an investigation, Cain was taken into custody and taken to the Marshall County Jail.”

His preliminary hearing 1 p.m. on June 8. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Julian David Hernandez made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge and a dog at large charge. The public defender’s office was appointed as counsel on the assault charge and the preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 9. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty to the dog at large charge and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on June 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Louis A. Walsingham made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a probation revocation hearing charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 5. Bond is set at $50,000 cash only.

• Sean Switzer made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 5. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

• Mason A. Pelzer made an initial appearance on a unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Pelzer pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.
