• Ulysses Esquivel Vallejo made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-second degree charge and a carrying weapons charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 26. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Taira L. Herrington made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 10 a.m. on July 14. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Diego Nathanel Murillo made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a failure to maintain control charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 5. Murillo is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days of today’s date to the court.

• Scott Kelly Johnson, of Minnesota, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Johnson pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Herbert Samuel Elliott made an initial appearance on a assault causing bodily injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 5. Elliott is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

State St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2 N. Second Ave., 310 Bromley St., 108 S. Fourth St., 1408 S. Sixth St., 716 W. Lincoln Way, and 504 N. 14th Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle on Center Street, a dispatched/cancelled en route to 310 Orchard Drive, and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 402 Woodland St., 3202 S. 12th St., 110 S. Sixth St., 406 W. Nevada St., 1606 S. Fifth St., 612 E. Linn St., 200 S. 12th Ave., 405 N. 13th Ave., and 111 Harmony Drive.
