• Nakia Aujeanae Daily made an initial appearance on a robbery-second degree charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a providing false identification information charge. Jeffrey Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of release.

• Dzeneta Isakovic made an initial appearance on a robbery-second degree charge, a possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a providing false identification information charge. Darrell Meyer is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of release.

• Larrah Mills, of St. Anthony, made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-displaying or using a weapon charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Jacob Allen Chamberlin, of Morgan, Ill., made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge, a theft-second degree charge, a stop sign violation charge, a failure to yield to an emergency vehicle charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a warrant charging him with failure to file an arraignment. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the two theft charges is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31. The arraignment hearing will be handled at the same time. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. Chamberlin pleaded guilty to the traffic charges. The fines on the stop sign violation and the failure to yield to emergency vehicle are $100 each with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195 for each charge. On the no valid driver’s license the fine is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Richard Hauser Chamberlin made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with theft-third degree. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 7. Hauser is released on his promise to appear.

• Alphonze Theophilus Emanuel Chamberlin made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to file a written arraignment. Merrill Swartz will continue as counsel. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. Aug. 31. Emanuel is released on his promise to appear.

• Jessica Watson, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a warrant charging her with failure to appear for a judgment debtor exam. The judgment debtor exam is rescheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 13.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Brett Daugherty was arrested for driving while barred.

• On Wednesday, Scott Haugan was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana-first offense, no insurance-accident, no valid driver’s license, fraudulent use of registration, operation without registration and operating while under the influence-third or subsequent offense charge.

• On Wednesday, Melissa Weatherly was arrested for keeping a premises or vehicle for controlled substance violation-maintaining a drug house, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and controlled substance violation.

• On Wednesday, Larrah Mills was arrested for domestic abuse assault.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Friday, Aug. 11, Michael Wessels, 56, of Lamont, was arrested on Highway 14 at 260th Street and charged with operating while intoxicated-second offense. Wessels posted bond and was released.

Accidents

• On Thursday, Aug. 10, a car driven by Denise Craig, 64, of Stout, was stopped at the stop sign on Second Street facing southbound when a car driven by Tanner Cox, 25, of Dike, which was eastbound on West State Street, attempted to make a left turn onto Second Street, the Craig car accelerated and collided with the front and rear doors on the driver’s side. No injuries were reported. Craig was cited for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Damage to the Craig car was estimated at $2,500 while the Cox vehicle received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On Monday, Aug. 14, a car driven by a 16-year-old female from Dike was eastbound on 160th Street and attempted to turn onto Country Club Lane when it struck the Fox Ridge Golf Course sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $3,500.

• On Saturday, Aug. 19, a vehicle driven by Jarrett Werner, 20, of Carroll, was eastbound on Highway 20 when the driver stated a raccoon started to enter the roadway from the south. The driver swerved to avoid hitting it, tires dropped off onto the shoulder, the driver jerked the wheel back to the right and hit the outside shoulder resulting in the vehicle rolling and coming to rest on its side in the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Werner vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
