MONDAY

• Dawn Cagwin Muller made an initial appearance through counsel, Chad Frese, on an ongoing criminal conduct charge and a theft charge. The preliminary hearing has been waived.

• Renea Lorraine Morrison made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge, two counts of a driving under suspension charge, a failure to use a seat belt charge, a failure to obey a stop sign charge and a giving false identification charge. Merrill Swartz is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by Morrison’s parole officer. Morrison is being held without bond pending her hearing.

• Josh Stanton made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-second offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 17. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Allen Lee Roy Schrader made an interference with official acts charge. Schrader pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Natashia Kristine Benda made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-second offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 25. Benda is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days to the court.

• Sean Matthews Smith made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Tyler Heeren will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $300 cash or surety. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Selena Johnson, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a operation without registration charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 30 in Magistrate Court.

• Avery Brooks made an initial appearance on a trespass-first offense charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $200 with a $70 surcharge, $125 law enforcement initiative and $60 court costs for a total of $455, due in 30 days.
