• Jamie Ranae Connett made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver-substance containing herion charge, a possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver charge, a keeping a premises for the use or sale of controlled substances charge and a child endangerment charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 11. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered to be completed and filed with the court within 60 days of release. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Jerry Juan Oden Jr. made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver-a substance containing heroin charge, a possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver charge and a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. The preliminary hearing on the drug charges is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 11. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only on the drug charges. Oden is being without bond on the probation violation. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered to be completed and filed with the court within 60 days of release.

• Ryan Lee Stubbs made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Aug. 16. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Incidents

• On Tuesday, a citizen reported someone striking an unattended vehicle in the 500 block of North First Street.

• On Tuesday, a person reported vandalism in the 500 block of North First Street resulting in damage estimated from $500-$1,000.

• On Tuesday, there was a report of a theft under $200 in the 100 block of North Second Street.

• On Wednesday, a victim reported a fraudulent practice between $500 and $1,000 in loss.

• On Wednesday, a citizen reported hit and run damage in the 100 block of West Main Street.

• On Wednesday, a motor vehicle burglary was reported in the 1100 block of South Center Street.

• On Tuesday, Laura Cox was arrested for theft-fifth degree-shoplifting.

• On Tuesday , Arturo Ramirez Jr. was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Tuesday, Natashia Benda was arrested for possession of marijuana-second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Tuesday, Larean Skogen Walker was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Wednesday, Ryan Stubbs was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Yosief Gebrezghabihir was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Wednesday, Joshua Potter was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Wednesday, Chad Alan Hatch was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Wednesday, Yosief Gebrezghabihir was arrested for public intoxication.

Accidents

• On Monday, a pickup driven by Mario Almanza-Velasquez, of Gladbrook, was eastbound on Anson Street when it attempted to turn left onto Highway 14 into the path of a minivan driven by Amy Beth Lewarne, of Marshalltown, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Almanza-Velasquez was cited for failure to yield upon left turn. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000 each.

• On Monday, a car driven by Jasmine Ronee Vore, of Albion, was northbound on South Center Street stopped at Westwood Drive and proceeded forward when the light changed to green colliding with the rear of a vehicle driven by Adalberto Perez-Mateo, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

• On Monday, a car driven by Janelle Elaine Eddy, of Parkersburg, was northbound on South Second Avenue stopped at the intersection with East Church Street and then proceeded forward where it collided with a vehicle driven by Paul Richard Beals, of Marshalltown, which was westbound on Church Street. No injuries were reported. Eddy was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Beals vehicle was estimated at $2,000 while the Eddy car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a minivan driven by Zebulin Franklin Carmer, of Marshalltown, was exiting a shared driveway when, in the backing process, it struck the driver’s side of the Impreza. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Carmer minivan was estimated at $1,200 while the Impreza sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On Wednesday, a burglary in Liscomb was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

• On Wednesday, Jinub Dak Reath was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Austin James Shuey was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Jerry Juan Oden Jr. was arrested on a warrant and conspire with intent to manufacture or deliver heroin and conspire with intent to deliver marijuana.

• On Wednesday, Jamie Ranae Connett was arrested for child endangerment, keeping a premises or vehicle for controlled substance violation, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and intent to manufacture or deliver heroin.
