• David James Spencer made an initial appearance on a unlawful manufacturing or distributing of a controlled substance-methamphetamine charge, a keeping a premises for the use or sale of a controlled substance charge and a possession of a controlled substance charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that Spencer by photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of his release.

• Bradley Isaac Shuckahosee made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Darrell Meyer is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court will schedule the probation revocation hearing. Shuckahosee is being held without bond.

• Jessica Renea Darrah made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge and an absence fro custody charge. Jeffrey Hazen is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court will schedule the probation revocation hearing. A preliminary hearing on the absence charge is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8. Darrah is being held without bond on the probation charge with a $5,000 cash only bond placed on the absence charge.

• Natasha Winter Gallegos made an initial appearance on a failure to file an written arraignment charge and a theft-third degree charge. Marshon Dubbert is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 for the theft charge. The arraignment hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 7. Bond is set at $4,000 cash or surety.

• Alexis Jimenez Diaz, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Diaz pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75, due within 30 days. The court ordered a substance abuse evaluation with the results submitted within 60 days to the court.

• Curtis Anthony Belle made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 in Magistrate Court.

• Jacob Lawrence Hansen made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. This case will be a companion charge to the felony charge. Bond is set at $300 cash or surety.

• Shone Dewayne Owens Jr. made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with contempt of court for failure to be photographed and fingerprinted. Owens had been photographed and fingerprinted that morning before court and was released.
