Tuesday

• Ryan Lee Stubbs, homeless, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Ashley Jo Brown made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-causing bodily injury charge and two counts of a child endangerment charge. Emily Swartz is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 29. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. No contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.

• Kevin R. Madison Jr. made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge, a failure to appear for an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a felon in possession of a fire arm charge and a no insurance charge; and a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge. Darrell Meyer is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. The preliminary hearing for the new charges is at 1 p.m. on Sept. 29. Madison is being held without bond on the probation charges. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only on the failure to appear charges and $5,000 cash or surety on the possession charge. Upon release Madison will have 60 days to obtain and submit a substance abuse evaluation to the court.

• Tanner Stanley made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $4,000 cash or surety.

• Patrick Lee Pieters made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Pieters pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Mason Burdette Thomasson made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge and a spitting in a police vehicle charge. Aaron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Thomasson is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Michelle Ann Detrick made an initial appearance on a failure to obey a stop sign charge. Detrick pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 in Magistrate Court.

Marshalltown Police Department

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Ashley Brown, 34, was arrested for child endangerment and domestic abuse assault-first offense.

• On Monday, Patrick Pieters, 27, was arrested for public intoxication.

• On Monday, Mason Thomasson, 26, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order and spitting in a police vehicle.

• On Monday, Joshua Sprague, 40, was arrested for driving under suspension.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, Sept. 13, a Jeep driven by Stacy Ann Galema, of Marshalltown, was westbound in the 1200 block of East Anson Street when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Istref Vishaj, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Vishaj car was estimated at $5,000 while the Galema Jeep received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Thursday, Sept. 14, a school bus driven by Randall Ray Weir, of Marshalltown, was turning eastbound onto Riverside Street when it sideswiped a legally parked Grand Prix in the 600 block of North Second Avenue. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Grand Prix was estimated at $2,500.

• On Monday, a car driven by Cheryl Marie Gunderson, of Melbourne, was northbound on North Third Avenue approaching State Street when it attempted a left turn onto State Street crossing the path of a Jeep driven by Chelsie Jo Cecak Wren, of Allerton, resulting in a collision. As a consequence of the collision the Gunderson car was pushed into a vehicle driven by Naw Wah Ta Kaw, of Marshalltown, which was sitting at a red light on State Street. No injuries were reported. Gunderson was cited for failure to yield upon left turn. Damage to the Gunderson car was estimated at $5,000 while the Cecak Wren Jeep sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage and the Ta Kaw vehicle received an estimated $800 in damage.

Incidents

• On Friday, a report was made to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office of a theft from a motor vehicle in Gilman.

Arrests

• On Monday, Kevin Madison Jr., 35, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and on three bench warrants.
