Tuesday

• Lisa Marie Stochl made an initial appearance on a absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 6. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

• Anna Squires made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge, a keeping a premises or vehicle for the use or sale of controlled substances charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Squires will hire Peter Berger as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 16. Squires is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Michael Edward Hoover made an initial appearance on a spitting in a police vehicle charge. Hoover pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Jessie Rae Uhlenhopp made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 2. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Kenneth Drumm made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Aaron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 9 in Magistrate Court. Drumm is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Brigette Erna Narreau made an initial appearance on a trepass charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $522.50, due within 30 days.

• Natrisha Banks made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a probation revocation hearing charge. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Banks was released on her promise to appear.

• David Duran made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Duran pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 in Magistrate Court. Duran is released on his promise to appear.

Incidents

• On Monday, a theft was reported in the 900 block of Jackson Street.

Arrests

• On Monday, Kenneth Drumm, 45, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

• On Monday, Michael Martinez, 32, was arrested for driving under suspension.

Accidents

• On Friday, Sept. 15, a car driven by James Seed Jr., of Marshalltown, was northbound on North Center Street when in its attempt to turn left into the Depot a collision occurred with a car driven by Kyle Anthony Groen, of Reinbeck, which was also northbound. Passenger Eddie Neal, of Marshalltown, was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown with possible injuries. Damage to the Seed car was estimated at $3,000 while the Groen car received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Saturday, Sept. 16, a car driven by Christina Marie Vanwaardhuizen, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Third Avenue approaching the intersection with East Church Street when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Sarah Louise Waters, of Marshalltown, which was stopped for a red light. When the Waters vehicle pulled into a nearby parking lot to exchange information Vanwaardhuizen left the scene. No injuries were reported. Vanwaardhuizen was later found and cited for operating while intoxicated, failure to stop in an assured, clear distance, no insurance-accident and leaving the scene-property damage only. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

• On Sunday, Sept. 17, a pickup driven by Rene Ramirez-Andrade, of Marshalltown, was westbound on West Southridge Road when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Doris Patrice Scott, of Marshalltown, which was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with South Sixth Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Scott car was estimated at $3,000 while the Ramirez-Andrade pickup received an estimated $50 in damage.

• On Wednesday, Sept. 20, a farm tractor driven by William Henley Thomas, of Marshalltown, was southbound in the 500 block of South Center Street when a pin fell out of the steering column resulting in Thomas losing control of the tractor and colliding with a legally parked Nissan Maxima. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $2,000.

Arrests

• On Saturday, Phillip Randall Dunston, 18, was arrested for first-offense possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiring with intent to deliver.

• On Monday, Jessie Uhlenhopp, 21, was arrested for violation of probation.
