Wednesday

• Emmanuel K. Al Hameed made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The court appointed legal counsel for Al Hameed. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only on each case.

• Matthew John Kippe made an initial appearance on three counts of a probation violation charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety on each case.

• Gregory T. Harrison made an initial appearance on two counts of a failure to appear in a probation violation charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court judge revoked Harrison’s bond and ordered Harrison to report to his probation officer. Failure to comply will result in a warrant.

• Christopher Moore made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The board of parole and Moore’s parole officer will schedule the parole revocation hearing. Moore is being held without bond.

• Rueben Lee Hickman made an initial appearance on a harassment-first degree charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing will be scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 20. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

• Nathan Thomas Lucas made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a failure to secure a child charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31. Lucas is released on his promise to appear.

• Colton Baker Lagerquist made an initial appearance on an absence from custody charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 20. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

• Leslie Quirarte made an initial appearance on two counts of a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Merrill Swartz is appointed as counsel. The rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 15 in Magistrate Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• James Franklin Duncan made an initial appearance on two counts of a driving while revoked charge, a no insurance charge, an operation without interlock device charge, an operation without registration charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Merrill Swartz is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Adam E. Harris made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Jeffrey Scott Braun made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Vanessa Arzberger will act as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 1 in Magistrate Court. Braun is released on his promise to appear.

• Yianna Janae Wallace made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Wallace pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Monday, a hit and run accident was reported-property damage only to the police department.

• On Monday, two incidents of motor vehicle burglary was reported in the 10 block of East Southridge Road.

• On Monday, a theft was reported with a loss between $200 – $500.

• On Tuesday, vandalism to motor vehicles was reported in six cases in a parking lot in the 100 block of Washington Street. In each case damage was valued between $1,000 – $10,000.

• On Tuesday, a case of hit and run was reported to the Marshalltown Police Department in the 1000 block of East Anson Street.

• On Wednesday, vandalism to property was reported in two cases in the 200 block of South 12th Avenue. In each case damage was valued between $1,000 – $10,000.

Citations

• On Monday, Jorge Gomez Chavarria, 18, was arrested for driving under suspension and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Monday, Carlos Solorio Nava, 21, was arrested for possession of marijuana-second offense.

• On Monday, Jonathan Hill, 31, was arrested for contempt of court-violation of a no-contact order.

• On Monday, Valerie Villone, 42, was arrested for operating while under the influence-third or subsequent offense.

• On Tuesday, Emmanuel Al Hameed, 30, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Saturday, Oct. 7, a car driven by Troilynn Elyzabeth Vycto Leake, of Montezuma, was northbound on North First Avenue when, due to the speed it was unable to stop at the stop sign resulting in it entering the path of a minivan driven by Alejandro Antonio Gonzalez, of Marshalltown, which was westbound on Lincoln Street and an accident occurred. The momentum of the hit forced the Leake car to strike a nearby fire hydrant before coming to rest. No injuries were reported. Leake was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, no insurance-accident and failure to reduce speed to a reasonable and safe rate. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000 each.
