• Michael Bruce Johns made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Kirk Witte made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, a operation of a non-registered vehicle charge, a no insurance charge and a fraudulent use of registration charge. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 in Magistrate Court.

Marshalltown Police Department

Incidents

• On Monday, a case of vandalism was reported in the 3000 block of South 12th Street. Value of damage was estimated under $200.

• On Monday, a theft was reported to the Marshalltown Police Department.

• On Monday, burglary of a motor vehicle was reported to the Police Department.

• On Monday, a theft was reported in the 1000 block of Summit Street.

Arrests

• On Monday, Rosalia Ramos, 27, was arrested for assault.

• On Monday, Juan Ramos, 51, was arrested for assault-use or display of a weapon.

• On Monday, Juan Cortes Espinosa, 27, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury and driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Monday, Bradley Sparrow, 36, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense and violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

• On Monday, Tina Roberts, 60, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

Marshalltown Fire Department

Oct. 9

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle on North 12th Avenue, a dumpster or trash receptacle fire at 300 S. 10th Ave., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 104 E. Webster St., 2500 S. Center St., and 104 W. State St.

Oct. 10

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1501 E. Nevada St., 5 N. Eighth St., 505 Craig Circle, 202 N. Second Ave., and 407 W. Church St.

Oct. 11

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 310 N. 12th Ave., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 312 E. Main St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 310 Orchard Drive, 1211 W. State St., and 1011 W. Church St.

Oct. 12

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 1315 W. Main St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 55 Central Iowa Drive, 205 N. Fourth Ave., 407 W. Church St., 303 Nicholas Drive, and 3212 Lily Lane.

Oct. 13

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/cancelled en route to 613 N. Third Ave., and 208 Helm St., a good intent call to 805 May St., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 907 W. Boone St., 3101 S. Center St., 703 Woodbury St., 205 N. Fourth Ave., 1911 E. Anson St., 510 W. Church St., 407 W. Church St., and 110 College Drive.

Oct. 14

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 206 Nicholas Drive, 1211 W. State St., and two at 915 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd.

Oct. 15

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle at 2703 275th St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 112 N. First St., 210 S. Ninth St., 608 E. Olive St., 1600 S. Center St., 407 S. Center St., and 914 May St.

Marshall County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Monday, Michael Johns, 28, was arrested for driving under suspension and no valid driver’s license.

• On Monday, Kirk Witte, 37, was arrested for driving under suspension, no valid driver’s license, operating non-registered vehicle, improper use of registration and no insurance.

• On Monday, Sage Aragon, 20, was arrested for violation of probation.

Accidents

• On Monday, a vehicle driven by Scott Alexander Hubbard, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Parker Avenue when it crested a hill and came upon a deer in the roadway. Hubbard swerved to miss the deer and lost control on the gravel causing him to leave the roadway to the left and the vehicle to overturn onto its side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hubbard vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

• On Monday, a car driven by Lane James Williams, of Toledo, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in disabling front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Williams car was estimated at $5,000.
