• Kristin Carter Bray made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine-second offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that upon release, Bray must be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Chris Leon Christopher made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that upon release, Christopher must be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Brian Keith Judge made an initial appearance on an operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, a littering charge and an open container charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 24. Judge is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Eric S. Boyd made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 13. Boyd is released on his promise to appear.

• Nikki Camarena made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days.

• Sara Emery made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days.

• Philip John Oetker made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 13. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Linda Rin made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 13. Bond will continue until the conclusion of this case.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a gray Pontiac Grand Am exited from Highway 30 eastbound onto Highway 14 then turned northbound and collided with a pickup driven by Patricia Ann Anderson, 61, of Haverhill, before leaving the scene. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Anderson pickup was estimated at $2,500.

• On Monday, a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male from Marshalltown was southbound in the 1200 block of South Third Avenue when he looked over at his female passenger, veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. The 14-year-old passenger was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown for treatment of minor injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $15,000.

Arrests

• On Friday, Ricardo Estrada-Lopez, 36, was arrested for speeding, no insurance, reckless driving, open container and no valid driver’s license.

• On Friday, Marlon Rodriguez Lopez, 21, was arrested for driving while license is denied or revoked, driving under suspension and no valid driver’s license.

• On Sunday, Susan Brafford, 45, was arrested on a warrant for theft-third degree.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Andrew Dean Streeter, 25, of Marshalltown, was westbound on 275th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway causing extensive front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Streeter pickup was estimated at $5,000.

• On Wednesday, a pickup driven by Daniel Richard Struthers, 45, of State Center, was southbound on Cooper Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway sustaining damage to the rear driver’s side bumper. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Struthers pickup was estimated at $2,500.

• On Wednesday, a car driven by Carmella Lea Mutschler, 66, of Gilman, was northbound on Zeller Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mutschler car was estimated at $2,000.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Brittny Marie Edwards, 28, of Conrad, was southbound on Zeller Avenue when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Edwards vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

• On Sunday, , a vehicle driven by Jessica Marie Edler, 37, of State Center, was westbound on 190th Street when it failed to yield the right of way and a collision occurred with a car driven by Peggy Lou Gray, 54, of Urbandale. Gray was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown with possible injuries. Edler was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Edler vehicle was estimated at $7,000 while the Gray car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Sunday, Barry Watts, 31, of Fort Dodge, was arrested in Butler County following an investigation into a burglary/theft that occurred in Stout. Watts was arrested for burglary in the third degree. He remains in jail in lieu of $8,500 bond.
