• Jacob Allen Wayne Roop made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-second offense charge, an operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, a probation violation charge, an escape from custody charge, a reckless driving charge, a failure to yield to emergency vehicle charge and a speeding charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. The preliminary hearing for all the rest of the charges will be at 1 p.m. on Dec. 20. Roop is being held without bond on the probation violation and a $5,000 cash only bond has been placed on the rest of the charges. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered.

• Alex Martinez made an initial appearance on an operating while intoxicated-second offense charge, a driving while revoked charge, two stop sign violation charges, a no insurance charge, a failure to yield to emergency vehicle charge and a speeding charge. The preliminary hearing for all the rest of the charges will be at 1 p.m. on Dec. 29. Martinez is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered.

• Jesus Pacheco made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Jose Angel Aguilera Chairez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Jessica Chavarria made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2018, in Magistrate Court.

• Fabiola Garcia Chavarria made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 21, 2018, in Magistrate Court.

• Juanita Fulster made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Connie Sue Lacey made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus-first offense charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2018, in Magistrate Court. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel.

• Gerald Enlow made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge. The case was dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed when proof of insurance was provided.

• Karl Wacker made an initial appearance on a failure to obey a stop sign charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days.
