• Nathaniel Dean Greenfield completed the court order for photographing and fingerprinting and was released from custody.

• Chad Allen Stonewall made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a possession of mushrooms charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 29. Stonewall is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Zachary Glen Veren, of Clemons, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge. Brandon Buck will act as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 29. Veren is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Tracie Alma Rene McFarland made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a no insurance charge, an operation without registration charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m.on Dec. 29. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Karina Hernandez made an initial appearance on a dog at large-third offense charge. Hernandez pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Tymiesha Shavette Glass made an initial appearance on a unauthorized use of a credit card charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m.on Dec. 29. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Incidents

• On Tuesday, a theft in the 500 block of South 15th Avenue was reported to the Marshalltown Police Department.

• On Tuesday, criminal mischief with damage valued between $1,000-$10,000 was reported in the 3400 block of South Center Street.

• On Tuesday, a theft of motor vehicle parts was reported in the 800 block of South 19th Avenue.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Elaina Rivera Martinez, 19, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, Dec. 6, a car• On Friday, Dec. 1, a vehicle driven by Traci Dee Mahood, 42, of La Porte City, was southbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway causing the hood to fly up and strike the windshield obstructing the driver’s view. The Mahood vehicle came to rest in the median sustaining functional damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mahood vehicle was estimated at $15,000.

• On Friday, Dec. 1, a car driven by Michael Arthur Taylor, 58, of Toledo, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Taylor car was estimated at $2,000.

• On Wednesday, Nov. 29, a cargo van driven by Shawn Patrick Kieran, 51, of Des Moines, was eastbound on 256th Street attempting to cross Highway 330 when it entered the path of a northbound pickup driven by Gary Matthew Vanderah, 30, of Gilman, resulting in a collision. Vanderah complained of back pain but refused medical attention. Kieran was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Kieran van was estimated at $8,000 while the Vanderah pickup received an estimated $10,000 in damage.

• On Wednesday, Nov. 29, a car driven by Victoria Jo Pickering, 26, of Des Moines, was southbound on Marsh Avenue at the intersection with Marshalltown Boulevard when it proceeded forward onto Marshalltown Boulevard colliding with a truck driven by Anthony Lewis Johnson Sr., 49, of Des Moines, which was westbound on Marshalltown Boulevard sending the car into a cattle fence owned by Greg Alan Abernathy. No injuries were reported. Pickering was cited for no insurance. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

• On Saturday, Nov. 25, a vehicle driven by Rick Lee Eubanks, 55, of Liscomb, was northbound on Sanford Avenue when it drove off the right side of the roadway, entered the east ditch and continued to drive down to the bottom of the ditch where it struck a small drainage ditch tearing off the front wheel and driveline. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Eubanks vehicle was estimated at $8,000.

• On Tuesday, Dec. 12, a vehicle driven by Rebecca Ruth Haughey, 27, of Toledo, was eastbound in the 600 block of Jerome Street when it collided with a illegally parked Ford minivan. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Haughey vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the Ford minivan received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On Monday, Dec. 11, a vehicle driven by Hector Ceren Avelar, 34, of Marshalltown, was westbound in the 1200 block of East Nevada Street as the driver was looking at Christmas lights when he collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Martha Jo Kuhlers, 61, of Marshalltown, which was stopped for a turning vehicle. Kuhlers was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

• On Monday, Dec. 11, a car driven by Kathryn Kay Morrison, 67, of Grinnell, was southbound on Highway 14 attempting to turn left onto Iowa Avenue when it collided with a car driven by Pauli Jo Anderson, 20, of Montour, which was northbound on Highway 14. No injuries were reported. Morrison was cited with failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Monday, Dec. 11, a case of vandalism with damage valued under $200 was reported in the county.

• On Monday, Dec. 11, a report of a possible trespass was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

• On Saturday, Dec. 9, a case of criminal mischief and burglary was reported to the Sheriff’s Office.

• On Friday, Dec. 8, a burglary from a motor vehicle was reported in Marshall County.

• On Monday, Nov, 27, a theft of property valued greater than $10,000 was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
