Tuesday

• Jesse Ceniceros made an initial appearance on a pre-trial release violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. Ceniceros next court date is his arraignment at 1 p.m. on Feb. 8.

• Jonathan Waseskuk made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing charge. The judge lifted the warrant and rescheduled the sentencing for 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 14. Waseskuk must have his substance abuse evaluation completed by his court date. Waseskuk is released on his promise to appear.

• Angel Marie Pena made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge and upon arrest Pena was charged with interference with official acts. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 9. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Arrests

• On Sunday, Tami Short, 53, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, possession of methamphetamine-first offense and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance-serious.

• On Sunday, James Papakee, 19, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense, child endangerment-no injury and harassment-first degree.

• On Sunday, Ramon Garcia, 18, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Sunday, Selena Lopez, 22, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Sunday, Shonnelle Holmes, 23, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense.

• On Sunday, Albrea Winfrey, 23, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Michael Anthony, 47, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Benjamin Lopez-Pena, 19, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Monday, Tony Harris, 29, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-marijuana-third or subsequent offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while barred.

• On Monday, Christopher Petersen, 42, was arrested for no insurance and driving under suspension.

• On Monday, Angel Pena, 33, was arrested for interference with official acts and on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Friday, a pickup driven by Roseann Hooper, 83, of Gilman, was southbound on South Center Street when it ran a red light and collided with a car driven by Bernard Eugene Johnston, 56, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Hooper was cited for failure to obey a flashing red signal. Damage to the Johnston car was estimated at $3,000 while the Hooper pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Friday, a pickup driven by Larry Kent Dix, 77, of Janesville, was northbound on South Center Street at Meadow Lane slowing for a red light when his foot hit the accelerator and collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Emily Northam, 71, of Gladbrook. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Northam vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Christopher Richard McGrath, 40, of Ankeny, was westbound on Boone Street stopped at the intersection with Ninth Street and proceeded forward into the path of a car driven by Joanna E. Wellman, 35, of Marshalltown, which was headed south on Ninth Street resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. McGrath was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way while Wellman was cited for driving under suspension. Damage to the McGrath car was estimated at $1,000 while the Wellman car received an estimated $800 in damage.

• On Saturday, a case of criminal mischief connected with a burglary was reported in Laurel.

• On Friday, Jesse Ray Wignall, 27, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Melissa Sue Rettig, 28, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Steven Ray Nelson, 32, was arrested for assault on a peace officer and others, two counts of harassment-first degree, interference with official acts, assault causing injury-peace officers/others, assault causing injury and disorderly conduct-abusive epithets/threat gestures.

• On Saturday, Michael Steven, 31, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense, open container, driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway and stopped on the traveled part of a two-way unpaved highway.

• On Saturday, Joshua Bunn, 24, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and speeding.

• On Saturday, Cody VanZwol, 33, was arrested for three counts of contempt of court-violation of a no-contact order.

• On Sunday, Patrick Gregg Whitefish, 53, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Monday, Jesse Ceniceros, 32, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, David Ray Cox, 26, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, a pickup driven by James Donal Snyder, 71, of Albion, was southbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Snyder pikcup was estimated at $2,500.

• On Wednesday, a Jeep driven by Koni Rae Roche Eilders, 63, of Garwin, was westbound on East Main Street Road when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Roche Eilders Jeep was estimated at $7,000.

• On Sunday, a car driven by Alexandra Leigh Dubberke, 22, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highway 14 when it went out of control on the icy, snow-covered roadway and struck a guardrail before coming to rest in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dubberke car was estimated at $5,000.
