Tuesday

• Jack Alan Schultz made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge and an interference with official acts charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. The pre-trial conference on the interference charge is at 9:30 a.m. on March 14 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Andreas Jose Ibanez made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge and a failure to appear for a contempt hearing charge. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The two contempt hearings will be heard at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $300 cash only. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Incidents

• On Monday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 300 block of West Southridge Road. Damage was estimated at $3,500.

Arrests

• On Monday, Jack Schultz, 58, was arrested for interference with official acts and violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

• On Monday, Andreas Ibanez, 18, was arrested on a warrant and for violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

• On Monday, Tasha McKittrick, 37, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, a 17-year-old male was arrested for driving under suspension.

Accidents

• On Friday, Jan. 19, a car driven by a 16-year-old female was northbound on South Third Avenue when it collided with the rear of a car driven by a 16-year-old male pushing it into the rear of a vehicle driven by Jessica Nicole Serrano, 26, of Marshalltown, which was stopped waiting to turn left. NNo injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile female’s car and the Serrano vehicle were both estimated at $500 while the juvenile boy’s car received an estimated $800 in damage.

• On Tuesday, Jan. 30, a school bus driven by Murray Edward McHone, 74, of marshalltown, was turning south from West Main Street onto 14th Street when the rear of the bus swung wide and struck a legally parked GMC. No injuries were reported. Damage to the bus was estimated at $700 while the GMC received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Thursday, Feb. 8, a vehicle driven by Ah Noo, 33, of Des Moines, was eastbound in the 700 block of West Lincolnway approaching a curve in the roadway at too high a rate of speed for the snow-covered road, failed to negotiate the curve to the left and headed off the roadway to the right driving through a chain-link fence before coming to a stop. No injuries were reported. Noo was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Noo vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the chain-link fence received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Friday, Feb. 9, a pickup driven by Lavern Allen Wickam, 25, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Iowa Avenue West when it ran a flashing red light and was broadsided by a car driven by Robert Steven Hazen, 32, of Marshalltown, which was southbound on South Center Street. No injuries were reported. Wickam was cited for failure to obey a flashing red signal. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Saturday, Feb. 10, a car driven by Lwin Htoo Khaing Kyaw, 47, of Marshalltown, was southbound through an alleyway when it slid through the stop sign and collided with a car driven by Jessica Nicole Corns, 25, of Marshalltown, which was traveling west through the alley. No injuries were reported. Kyaw was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. Damage to the Kyaw car was estimated at $600 while the Corns car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, Feb. 10, a vehicle driven by Anita Louise Mayer, 70, of Marshalltown, was in a funeral procession traveling north in the 300 block of North Second Avenue when it continued through a stop sign at Lincoln Street in the procession and collided with the rear of a car driven by Martin Luther Harris, 77, of Marshalltown, which was traveling west on Lincoln and unaware that a funeral procession was driving north. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Harris car was estimated at $1,500 while the Mayer vehicle received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Monday, Feb. 12, a car driven by Cathy Jenell Pearson, 54, of Marshalltown, was traveling north in the Hy-Vee parking lot and a car driven by Chase Randel Sanache, 19, of Le Grand, was eastbound in the lot when the Pearson car pulled into the path of the Sanache car and a collision followed. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pearson car was estimated at $1,000 while the Sanache car received an estimated $800 in damage.

Arrests

• On Friday, Feb. 9, Larry Kenneth Plum, 60, was arrested for no insurance-accident, failure to maintain control and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Friday, Feb. 9, Lance Mandell Walker, 38, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Feb. 11, Mark Shattuck, 46, was arrested for failure to appear.

• On Monday, Feb. 12, Tearstyn ann Zitzow, 20, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Feb. 12, Omar Colunga-Silva, 26, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, Feb. 6, a semi driven by Dean Joseph Reierson, 54, of Clermont, was northbound on North Third Avenue in the inside lane when it initiated a lane change and collided with the left rear quarter panel on a minivan driven by Lori Helen Stansberry, 53, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Reierson was cited for improper lane change. Damage to the Stansberry minivan was estimated at $3,500 while the semi received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On Thursday, Feb. 8, a pickup driven by Andrew Morgan Lytton, 21, of State Center, was southbound on Eastman Avenue and while going up a hill the pickup went into a slide and ended up in the northbound lane where it collided head-on with a car driven by a 15-year-old male from St. Anthony. Lytton and the juvenile were transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by ambulance and a young passenger was driven by parents to the Emergency Room. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $7,500 while the car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, Feb. 6, a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old from Marshalltown was eastbound on D-35 when it attempted to slow while approaching the stop sign at T-55, but went out of control on the snowy roadway, entered the south ditch and striking a light pole before coming to rest. The juvenile sustained minor injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
