• Diego Villa Magana made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, six counts of a child endangerment charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 2. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only. Six no-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of release.

• Derek Lee Spinks made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-second offense charge, a disorderly conduct charge and a no insurance charge. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of release. The bond on the warrant is $5,000 cash or surety.

• Joseph Chapman made an initial appearance on three counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $7,500 for each count, cash only.

• Matthew Dean Steelsmith made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 21 in Magistrate Court. Steelsmith was released on his promise to appear.

• Yosief Tsegezeab Gebrezghabihir made an initial appearance on two counts of a harassment-third degree charge. The judge entered a not guilty plea as the defendant remained silent. Aron Vaughn was appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 7 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $350 cash or surety. Two no-contact orders have been issued for the protected party.
