• Joshua Joe Sprague made an initial appearance on a contempt of court charge and a violation of probation charge. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Jennifer Bonzer is appointed as counsel. Bond is set at $2,000 cash.

• Raul Ricardo Mares Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Mares Rodriguez is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Logan Jeffrey Shoemaker made an initial appearance on an assault on persons in certain occupations charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 16. Darrell Meyer is appointed as counsel. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Daniel Wilford Garr made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation-second or subsequent offense charge, a domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness-first offense charge and a domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 16. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. On the two assault charges, the preliminary hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Stephanie Michelle Enarson made an initial appearance on two counts of a theft-fifth degree charge. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 7 in Magistrate Court.

• Rocio Cruz made an initial appearance on a controlled substance violation charge and a failure to affix a drug tax stamp charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 16. Bond is set at $100,000 cash. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel.

Hansen is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by 4:30 p.m. today.

• Tymiesha Glass made an initial appearance on an identity theft under $1,000 charge and a unauthorized use of credit card under $1,000 charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. Glass is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 9.

• Cheryl Ann Bolen made an initial appearance on an assault on persons in a certain occupation-bodily injury charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. Bolen is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Stefani Paige Perdue made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Perdue pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days.

• Juan Manuel Saldana Diaz made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Saldana Diaz pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Lilia Rodriguez Meza, 36, of Marshalltown, was westbound on East Church Street and attempted a left turn crossing the path of a pickup driven by Gary Laverne Crosser Jr., 56, of La Porte City, also traveling west and a collision ensued. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

• On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Jerry Andrew Angle, 59, of Gilman, was westbound on East State Street when traffic began to slow. To avoid collision Angle attempted to swerve resulting in the vehicle sliding and rotating to where the Angle passenger rear side collided with the rear of a pickup driven by Ronald Allen Nelson, 58, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Angle vehicle was estimated at $3,000 while the Nelson pickup received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a car driven by a 15-year-old female from Marshalltown was northbound on Edgebrook Drive when it ran the stop sign at Olive Street driving into the path of a pickup driven by Cody Lee Wical, 36, of Reinbeck, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to obey a stop or yield sign. Damage to the car was estimated at $3,000 while the pickup received an estimated $50 in damage.
