• Stephanie Michelle Enarson made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 26. Enarson is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Kayla Mae Heatherington made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. • Anthony Powell made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge. Powell pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Melissa Wade made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Wade pleaded guilty to both charges. On the interference charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the drug paraphernalia charge is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Scot Alan Olson made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. Olson will represent himself in this case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 26. Olson is released on his promise to appear.

Incidents

• On Monday, a theft from a motor vehicle was reported to the Marshalltown Police Department.

• On Monday, a second theft from a motor vehicle was reported to the Police Station.

• On Monday, a theft was reported in the 900 block of West Lincoln Way.

Arrests

• On Monday, Juan Manzo Abundiz, 42, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Monday, Amber Cervantes-Arteaga, 26, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Monday, Deanna McCurdy, 33, was arrested for theft-fifth degree-shoplifting.

• On Tuesday, Melissa Wade, 21, was arrested for interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Tuesday, Anthony Powell, 31, was arrested for interference with official acts.

Accidents

• On Monday, March 5, a car driven by Jerome Donald McDaniel, 84, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Third Avenue in the inside lane when the driver attempted to turn right colliding with a car driven by Taylor Irene Curtis, 25, of Conrad, which was traveling in the outside lane. No injuries were reported. McDaniel was cited for turning at intersection violation. Damage to the McDaniel car was estimated at $500 while the Curtis car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, March 3, as a car driven by Kimberly Ellen Frimml, 39, was westbound on Merle Hibbs Boulevard across South Center Street when a car driven by Franklin Lugo Rodriguez, 40, proceeded south on the Frontage Road crossing the path of the Frimml car resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Lugo Rodriguez was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Lugo Rodriguez car was estimated at $4,000 while the Frimml car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

Incidents

• On Tuesday, three individuals in Marshall County reported their mailboxes being damaged by vandalism.

Arrests

• On Sunday, a minivan driven by Juanita Kay Witte, 69, of State Center, was westbound on East Main Street Road when it struck a deer which ran onto the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Witte minivan was estimated at $2,000.

• On Monday, Kayla Heatherington, 27, was arrested for two counts of violation of probation and possession of marijuana-first offense.

• On Monday, Nicholas Weatherly, 32, was arrested on a warrant charging him with operating while under the influence-first offense and driving while barred.

• On Monday, Deanna Joan McCurdy, 33, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Monday, a vehicle driven by Nancy May Bachman, 61, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer which ran onto the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bachman vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
