Monday

• Charles Tyler Osgood, of Albion, made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 25. Osgood is released on his promise to appear. If he owns or possesses any firearms, Osgood is to make arrangements within six hours of release to surrender them to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Ryan Butler made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Butler pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

Accidents

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Janneth Aracely Larios Larios, 27, of Marshalltown, was exiting Walmart onto Merle Hibbs Boulevard when it collided with a vehicle driven by Larean Margraeta Skogen-Walker, 38, of Marshalltown, which was westbound on Merle Hibbs. No injuries were reported. Larios Larios was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $800 each.

• On Friday, a Jeep driven by Calvin Arthur Morrison, 18, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Marion Street at the intersection with North Third Avenue when it proceeded forward into the path of a pickup driven by Paul Daniel Joseph Skogen, 18, of Marshalltown, which had just signaled a lane change not a turn right. A female passenger was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown with possible injuries. Morrison was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $8,000.

• On Friday, a pickup driven by Anastacio Lopez Reyes, 57, of Marshalltown, was westbound in the 800 block of West State Street when it went through a stop sign at Ninth Street and collided with a minivan driven by Andrea Joyce Quastad, 33, of Laurel. No injuries were reported. Lopez Reyes was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Alejandra Dean Bly, 18, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South 12th Street attempting to turn left onto Anson Street, while learning to drive a stick shift, when she made a wide turn and collided with a pickup driven by a 17-year-old male. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bly car was estimated at $5,000 while the juvenile’s pickup received an estimated $3,000 in damage.
