• Emmanuel K. Alhameed made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing for the assault charge is 1 p.m. on July 9. The bond is set at $2,000 cash only. The District Associate Court will set the probation revocation hearing. Alhameed is being held without bond on the probation violations. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Tyrone Lamont Eatmon made an initial appearance on two counts of a domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury charge, an obstruction of emergency communications charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the domestic charges. The preliminary hearing for the charges surrounding the alleged assault is 1 p.m. on July 9. The bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 27 in Magistrate Court for the driving violation. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Kurt Allen Smith made an initial appearance on a keeping a premises or vehicle for the purpose of selling or using drugs charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 19. Smith is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by no later than 4 p.m. on Monday to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Jessica Ann Hartwig made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree-enhanced charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 19. Hartwig is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by no later than 4 p.m. on Monday to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Andrew M. Schooley made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Jennifer Frese is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court will set the probation revocation hearing. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Scott William Doc Slocum made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court will set the probation revocation hearing. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Edward Roe Johnston made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, two counts of a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, a no seatbelt charge and a no insurance charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 19. Johnston is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by no later than 4 p.m. on Monday to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

Accidents

• On Friday, a minivan driven by Claudia Patlan-Perez, 33, of Tama, was exiting a parking spot at Dollar Tree when it collided with the passenger side door of a car driven by Debra Rae Netolicky, 63, of Marshalltown, which was southbound through the lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Netolicky car was estimated at $2,000 while the Patlan-Perez minivan received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Thursday, a car driven by Katlyn Elaine McDonald, 19, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on East Anson Street when the driver looked down to eat her lunch and struck a legally parked Daewoo Lanos. No injuries were reported. McDonald was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the McDonald car was estimated at $2,000 while the Daewoo car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Thursday, April Sue Stanley, 37, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Edward Roe Johnston, 46, was arrested for failure to file SR-22 insurance, No insurance, failure to use safety belts and driving while barred.

• On Thursday, Andrew Michael Schooley, 25, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Cole Weatherly, 23, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a motorcycle driven by Keith Alan Head, 50, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Highway 30 when a deer traveling north across the roadway collided with his motorcycle. The driver maintained control, however, Head sustained an injury to his leg and was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Damage to the Head motorcycle was estimated at $2,000.

• On Thursday, a van driven by Shawn Michael Stewart, 47, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South 12th Avenue when the driver dozed off and drifted off the roadway to the right striking the bridge rail. No injuries were reported. Stewart was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Stewart van was estimated at $5,000.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 11 W. Linn St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1703 W. State St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 114 W. South St., 611 E. South St., 108 1/2 E. Olive St., 211 W. Church St. and 3007 S. Center St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 208 1/2 N. Third Ave., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 405 N. Third St., 101 NewCastle Road, 1002 Ratcliff Drive, 109 E. Main S. and 109 N. Second St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 505 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 707 W. Church St., 208 1/2 N. Third Ave. and 1307 Larkfield Court.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unintentional transmission of alarm at 2907 S. Sixth St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1012 S. Sixth Ave., 512 S. Sixth St., two at 2 N. Second Ave., 1301 S.Sixth St. and 311 S. Second St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Main Street and Third Avenue, an unauthorized burning at 1205 E. Nevada St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1301 Summit St., 212 Washington St., 112 N. First St., 1602 S. Second Ave. and 1315 W. Church St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a citizen complaint at 108 W. Lincoln St., two EMS calls, excluding vehicle accident with injury at 618 W. Boone St. and 304 N. Fourth Ave., a detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 2901 S. Second St., two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 111 N. Third Ave. and 1703 W. State St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 620 Woodbury St., 207 Edgeland Drive, 109 Southridge Road and 1619 S. 12th St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a brush fire at 516 N. Third St., a building fire at 207 Taft St., two motor vehicle accidents with injuries at Third Avenue and State Street and Center Street and Lincoln Street, no incident found on arrival at dispatch address at 915 S. Eighth Ave., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2300 Summit Road, and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1313 E. Nevada St., 22 N. Center St., 311 Orchard Drive, 1304 W. Boone St. and 601 N. Fifth Ave.
