• Jorge Luis Arturo Zavala made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a possession of cocaine charge, a falsifying a driver’s license charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 15. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. There is an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold on Zavala.

• Daniel Wilford Garr made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court will schedule the probation revocation hearing. Garr is being held without bond.

• Jesse Hernandez made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge, a no insurance charge, a driving under suspension charge, on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a trial and on a warrant charging him with failure to file a written arraignment. Hernandez will hire his own counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 18. The arraignment hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled for the traffic charges at 9:30 a.m. on July 27 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Robert Terrell Bowen made a initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, a driving under suspension charge and a failure to carry SR-22 insurance charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 27. Bowen is released on his promise to appear.

• Chad Hein made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Hein pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 27 in Magistrate Court. Hein is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Chelsea Ann Peddle made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge and a driving under suspension charge. Aron Vaughn has been appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. A rocket docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 27 in Magistrate Court for the driving under suspension charge. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Ivan Rodriguez Jimenez made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference. The contempt hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 20 in Magistrate Court. Rodriguez Jimenez was released on his promise to appear.

• Jermaine Archie Oden made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. Oden pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 11 in Magistrate Court. Oden is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Incidents

• On Wednesday, a case of trespass and damage to property was reported in the 10 block of West Main Street.

• On Wednesday, a burglary was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Wednesday, a case of vandalism was reported at the Marshalltown Police Station.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Lance Gibson, 28, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Wednesday, Jesse Hernandez, 21, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Jermaine Oden, 20, was arrested for trespass.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, a pickup driven by Logan Reece Millizer, 19, of State Center, was eastbound on East Anson Street attempting a left turn onto North Third Avenue when it turned in front of a car driven by Timothy Wayne Counts, 23, of Le Grand, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $800 each.

• On May 24, a minivan driven by Maria Delcarmen Gomez, 37, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Center Street approaching a lane closer near Ingledue Street when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Blake Stephen Linsenmeyer, 18, of Marshalltown, sending it into the rear of a vehicle driven Kayleigh Jo Priske, 22, of Eldora. No injuries were reported. Gomez was cited for failure to stop in the assured, clear distance. Damage to the Gomez and Linsenmeyer vehicles were estimated at $3,000 each while the Priske vehicle received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Robert Bowen, 29, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, driving under suspension, driving under suspension and driving while barred habitual offender.

• On Wednesday, Nicole Koenigs, 34, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.
