• Guillermo Zuniga Hernandez made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of blood or air charge, a child endangerment charge and on a warrant for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on two counts of driving under suspension charge, two counts of no insurance charge and an improper registration charge. The preliminary hearing on the new charges is set at 1 p.m. on June 18. The pre-trial conference is rescheduled for 9:30 a.m. on June 27 in Magistrate Court. Zuniga Hernandez is released on his promise to appear on the traffic charges. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety on the new charges. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Zuniga Hernandez is to contact the Marshalltown Police Department within 24 hours of release to surrender them. No-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.

• Lee Erin Kenner made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-second offense charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 28. Kenner is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 72 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Jonathan Marquis Tillman made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 28. Kenner is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Tony Lyle Varnum made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree-enhanced charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 28. Varnum is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 72 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Denise Marie Means made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Eric Dolash made an initial appearance on three counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The District Associate Court will address these cases today. Immediately upon release, Dolash is to appear at the adult probation office to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Jacob Daniel Struthers made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. Struthers pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Patrice Marie Smith made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 28. Chad Frese will be hired as counsel. Smith is released on her promise to appear.

• Rudell Marcello Sadie made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 28. Sadie is released on his promise to appear.

• Freddy Enriquez made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Enriquez pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Renee Lynn Nodland made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. Nodland pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Todd Wayne Moore made an initial appearance on an assault charge. Moore pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 18 in Magistrate Court.
