Monday

• Annissa Christine Robinson made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 3. Robinson is released on her promise to appear.

• Jonathan Hazel made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Hazel pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 in Magistrate Court.

• Jennifer Kristine Brisson made an initial appearance on a fireworks-prohibited use charge. Brisson pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 22 in Magistrate Court.

• Victor Ernest Hernandez Moreno made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Hernandez Moreno pleaded guilty and requested a deferred judgment. The court deferred judgment and placed Hernandez Moreno on a self-directed probation for one year in which he obeys all laws, pays a $65 civil penalty and restitution if applicable and at the end of one year, if all conditions are met, the theft will be expunged from his record.

• Tavian Lawrence Hicks made an initial appearance on a fireworks-prohibited use charge. Hicks pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Kenneth Rafael Hoffman made an initial appearance on a fireworks-prohibited use charge. Hoffman pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Brandy Marie Leggio made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident charge. Leggio pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Raymond Martinez Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge and a driving while revoked charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing for the driving while revoked charge is set at 1 p.m. on Aug. 3. The arraignment hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Martinez Rodriguez is released on his promise to appear.

• On Sunday, a case of vandalism to property was reported in the 200 block of East Main Street.

• On Sunday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 1000 block of West Lincoln Way.

• On Sunday, a case of theft resulting from a fraud was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Friday, Enrique Lemus Jr., 33, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Friday, Clayton Jensen, 41, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood-strangulation.

• On Friday, Cole Purdy, 18, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and on a warrant.

• On Friday, Shawn Dobbs, 27, was arrested for fireworks-prohibited use.

• On Saturday, Dalton See, 19, was arrested for possession of alcohol under legal age limit, driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Monday, Annissa Robinson, 41, was arrested for driving under suspension and driving while barred-habitual offender.

Accidents

• On June 30, a car driven by Chris Alan Uitermark, 50, of Marshalltown, was exiting a parking spot at The Laundromat when it collided with a pickup driven by Justin Clyde Spencer, 34, of Marshalltown, that was pulling into The Depot parking lot. No injuries were reported. Spencer was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Uitermark car was estimated at $2,000 while the Spencer pickup received an estimated $900 in damage.

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by William Thomas Zuercher, 85, of Marshalltown, and a minivan driven by Sharii Lynn Davenport, 79, of Marshalltown, were driving opposite directions through a parking lot when they collided. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Davenport minivan was estimated at $5,000 while the Zuercher vehicle received an estimated $7,000 in damage.

• On Friday, Cole Blake Purdy, was arrested for speeding, reckless driving, no valid driver’s license, driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended and ATV highway violation.• On Sunday, Cody Jasper Rinnels, 27, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Francisco Javier Garcia, 56, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, driving while license is denied or revoked, operation without interlock device and driving while barred.

• On Saturday, Sherrell Ann Jones, 59, was arrested for assault.

• On Saturday, Eddie Goff, 39, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Carlos Martin Perez, 20, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense.

• On Sunday, Jose Luis Romo, 31, was arrested for operating while under the influence-second offense.
