Court

• Carey J. Peshel made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for trial charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 17 in Magistrate Court. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel.

• Jack Kideo made an initial appearance through a Swahili interpreter on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19. Kideo must contact his attorney within 48 hours as a condition of release.

• Nathan Perkins made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the parole board and an administrative court judge. Perkins is being held without bond.

• Antonio Villa Magana made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Jeff Hazen will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is set at 9 a.m. on Oct. 25. Villa Magana’s next court date is a sentencing hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 19. Villa Magana is released on his promise to appear. The magistrate ordered Villa Magana to visit the adult probation office as a condition of release.

• Lilea Moore made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. Moore is ordered to visit her attorney within 24 hours.

• Angel Alvarado made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Alvarado pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 7 in Magistrate Court.

• William Burns made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, an operation without interlock device charge, a no insurance charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31. Burns is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Kassandra Castellanos made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Castellanos pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 14 in Magistrate Court.

• Larry Milton, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree-enhanced charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31. Milton is released on his promise to appear.

• Hrang Nawl made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a driving while revoked charge. Nawl will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Daniell Lee Sanchez made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge and a no insurance-accident charge. Sanchez pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 in Magistrate Court.
