• Kevin K. Kroeger made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Jeremiah T. Himschoot made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Himschoot is being held without bond.

• Jon Cole Wrage made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the administrative court judge and the parole board. Wrage is being held without bond.

• Jatneal Alvizo Sanchez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Sanchez pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Cheryl Ann Bolen made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Bolen pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Duh Cem made an initial appearance on a unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Cem pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Pedro Garcia Lopez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Garcia Lopez pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due by Dec. 31.

• Nicole Rae Koenigs made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Megan Marie Lakers, of Zearing, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Lakers pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due by Dec. 31.

• Michael Anthony Morales made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a turn at intersection violation charge. Morales pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50.The fine on the intersection turn is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. All payments are due by Dec. 31.

• Thomas James Morford made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. Morford pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2019, in Magistrate Court. Morford has hired Raya Dimitrova as counsel. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A photograph and finger print order was issued by the court to be completed by the end of work on Nov. 9.

• Jed Campbell Pothast made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence charge and a careless driving charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Roger Lynn Wrage made an initial appearance on a striking fixtures charge. Wrage pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due by Dec. 31.

• Hassan Hussein Wright Jr. made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• On Friday, a robbery was reported in the 900 block of West Lincoln Way.

• On Friday, a vandalism to property was reported in the 400 block of North 10th Avenue.

• On Saturday, two thefts were reported in the 2900 block of South Sixth Street.

• On Sunday, a burglary of a motor vehicle and a theft was reported in the 400 block of West Church Street.

• On Sunday, a burglary was reported in the 600 block of South Seventh Avenue.

• On Friday, Anthony Straley, 44, was arrested for theft-second degree.

• On Friday, Ulysses Esquivel-Vallejo, 21, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Darvin Toman III, 28, was arrested for driving under suspension and on two warrants.

• On Friday, Eva Hernandez, 19, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Friday, Haley Bean, 22, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Mary Birke, 47, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Friday, Roger Wrage, 81, was arrested for striking fixtures upon a highway.

• On Sunday, Rodolfo Sadie Jr., 39, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Sunday, Mindy Romero, 38, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Monday, Kevin Kroeger, 26, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Friday, female was westbound on South Sixth Street when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Erica Nicole Hoskey, 22, of Chelsea, which had slowed to turn into a private driveway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $3,000 while the Hoskey car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Friday, a pickup driven by Kyra Beth Long, 19, of Marshalltown, was stopped for a red light at the Merle Hibbs Boulevard and Highway 14 intersection when she proceeded forward colliding with the rear of a car driven by Sharlene Kay Roberts, 75, of Laurel. No injuries were reported. Long was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Long pickup was estimated at $500 while the Roberts car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Friday, Davenna Surber, 31, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine-first offense, keeping a premises or vehicle for controlled substance violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Friday, Randall Williams, 45, was arrested for two counts of probation violation.

• On Saturday, Anthony David Straley, 44, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Shane L. Charlton, 47, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sunday, Cole Wrage, 35, was arrested for violation of parole.

• On Sunday, Tyler Birkness, 26, was arrested for violation of probation.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a motor coach bus driven by Richard William Newkirk, 32, of North Liberty, was attempting to exit a parking lot when it struck the passenger side front corner of a legally parked Ram pickup. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Newkirk bus was estimated at $2,000 while the Ram pickup sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Thursday, a car driven by Ilene Darla Pieters, 73, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer which jumped out of the median onto the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pieters car was estimated at $5,000.
