Court — Monday

• Troy Anthony Williams-Vierkant made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Court judge and the parole board. Williams-Vierkant was released on his promise to appear.

• Matthew Robert Reichert made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-second offense charge and a speeding charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the drug charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 21. Reichert was released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. On the speeding charge, Reichert pleaded guilty and the fine is $80 with a $28 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $173, due within 30 days.

• Donovan Micheal Ramsey made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the drug charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 21. Ramsey was released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Kathleen Amber Dolan made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance-accident charge. Dolan pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $402.50. The fine on the no insurance charge is $500 with a $175 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $740. All payments are due within 60 days.

• Gary David Stevens made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Stevens pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2019, in Magistrate Court.

• Jessi Jo Gobble made an initial appearance on a simple assault charge. Gobble pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2019, in Magistrate Court. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel.

Incidents

• On Friday, = a theft valued between $1,000 – $10,000 was reported in the 200 block of South 12th Avenue.

• On Sunday, a hit and run incident was reported in the 3100 block of South Center Street.

• On Friday, Rashanda Holts, 38, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Friday, Darin Lewis, 46, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Friday, Ricky Luethje, 55, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Friday, Nichole Jans, 27, was arrested for theft-fifth degree-shoplifting.

• On Friday, Darvin Toman III, 28, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Saturday, Luis Mendez, 28, was arrested for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way and driving under suspension.

• On Saturday, Steven Klosterman was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Luis Manuel Mendez, 28, of Marshalltown, was was northbound on North Fourth Street stopped at the intersection with Summit Street. The Mendez vehicle proceeded forward into the path of a car driven by Lance Patrick White, 36, of Marshalltown, which was westbound on Summit Street resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Mendez was cited for driving under suspension and failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Mendez vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the White car received an estimated $4,500 in damage.

• On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Ruby Lee Monore Crisp, 42, of Marshalltown, was exiting a parking spot at a Kwik Star when it backed into the path of a pickup driven by Refugio Gonzalez Chavarria, 77, of Marshalltown, that was driving through the lot. No injuries were reported. Crisp was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $900 each.

• On Saturday, Kevin Eugene Leonard, 48, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Juan Diego De La Cruz, 34, was arrested for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way, speeding and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Sunday, Phillip Dunston, 19, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of methamphetamine-first offense, no insurance-accident, speeding, failure to maintain control, fraudulent use of registration, theft-fifth degree, driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended and eluding.

• On Sunday, Laken Stephen Schossow, 21, was arrested on a warrant.
