Arrests

• On Friday, Amanda Macias, 28, was arrested on a warrant charging her with three probation violations.

• On Friday, Jonathan Fugate, 26, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of marijuana-first offense.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Friday, Nov. 23, Elicia Fischer, 22, of Waterloo, was arrested on Highway 20 on a Polk County warrant charging her with failure to appear. Fischer was taken to the Hardin County jail where she was later picked up by Polk County authorities.

• On Monday, Nov. 19, Michelle Peterson, 40, of Mason City, was arrested on a Cerro Gordo County warrant charging her with probation violation. Peterson posted bond and was released.

Accidents

• On Friday, Nov. 23, a car driven by McKenzie Beck, 19, of Reinbeck, was southbound on T-65 south of 240th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Beck car was estimated at $1,500.

• On Friday, Nov. 23, a Jeep driven by Michelle Selken, 49, of Conrad, was southbound on Highway 14 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Selken Jeep was estimated at $5,000.

• On Friday, Nov. 23, a vehicle driven by Barbara Borton, 68, of Eldora, was southbound on S-75 when the driver looked down to adjust the heat and dropped off onto the southbound shoulder, overcorrected and lost control and came to rest in the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Borton vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

• On Thursday, Nov. 22, a car driven by Travis Sharp, 35, of Cedar Falls, was westbound on D-35 when it left the roadway to the left, struck a mailbox then entered the south ditch and continued west going over the top of two field drive embankments and came to rest when it struck two fence posts. The driver left the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported. Sharp was cited for registration violation and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Sharp car was estimated at $5,000.

• On Wednesday, Nov. 21, a Jeep driven by Timothy Lumadue, 51, of Waukee, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lumadue Jeep was estimated at $5,000.

• On Wednesday, Nov. 21, a vehicle driven by Alysha Webster, 31, of Rock Rapids, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Webster vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 20, a vehicle driven by Brady Leonard, 18, of Waverly, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it swerved to miss a deer in the roadway, exited the road to the left and struck a mile marker post. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Leonard vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

• On Monday, Nov. 19, a vehicle driven by Brandon Kail, 18, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Highway 175 when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Zachary Halverson, 18, of Beaman, which had slowed to make a left turn onto T-29. No injuries were reported. Kail was cited for failure to maintain control and no insurance. Damage to the Kail vehicle was estimated at $6,000 while the Halverson vehicle sustained an estimated $7,000 in damage.

• On Sunday, Nov. 18, a vehicle driven by Lucas Hulin, 24, of Conrad, was westbound on D-67 when the driver fell asleep at the wheel causing the vehicle to cross the center line, enter the south ditch, hit an embankment and go airborne before rolling and coming to rest. Hulin sustained some injuries. Hulin was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Hulin vehicle was estimated at $7,000.

• On Saturday, Nov. 17, a Jeep driven by a 14-year-old from Cedar Falls was eastbound on 160th Street when the driver lost control on the slushy roadway, crossed the center line and entered the north ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s Jeep was estimated at $4,000.

• On Friday, Nov. 16, a vehicle driven by Lakiesha Wessels, 21, of Waterloo, was northbound on U Avenue when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Diane Paulsen, 68, of Plainsfield, which had slowed to a stop for a vehicle in front turning left. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Paulsen vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the Wessels vehicle received an estimated $3,500 in damage.

Nov. 25

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 601 Marion St., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 201 N. Second Ave., 512 S. Ninth St., 1008 E. State St., 1211 W. State St., 533 N. Third St., 213 E. Southridge Road, 1007 Fremont St. and 9 E. Grant St.

Nov. 24

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 330 and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2203 S. Fifth Ave., 412 S. Third St., 1008 E. State St., 3012 S. Center St., 2224 Gary Court, 501 1/2 N. Center St., 1211 W. State St. and 102 N. 11th Ave.

Nov. 23

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 414 N. 14th Ave., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2610 W. Lincoln Way, 122 W. Main St., 2224 Gary Court, 514 E. Olive St. and 115 Iowa Ave. W.

Nov. 22

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to the intersection of Westwood Drive and South Sixth Street and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 210 Palmer St., 401 May St., 514 E. Olive St. and 1004 E. South St.

Nov. 21

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 1904 S. Fifth Ave., a public service at 1307 Larkfield Court, a malicious, mischievous false call at 705 S. Center St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 504 S. 15th Ave., 1001 S. First Ave., 1019 S. Eighth Ave., 1516 E. Olive St., 113 Bohen St. and 106 Anson Circle.

Nov. 20

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a rescue, EMS incident at 1700 Zeller Ave., two motor vehicle accident with injuries at 2802 S. Center St. and 501 S. Third St. and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1703 Edgebrook Drive, 202 N. Second Ave., the corner of Fifth Street and Summit Street, 1211 W. State St., 101 Sharon Ave., 10 S. Seventh Ave., 3202 S. 12th St. and 509 Arlington Drive

Nov. 19

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke scare at 3 S. Fourth Ave., two dispatched/cancelled en routes to the intersection of South 12th Avenue and Bromley Street and 202 N. Second Ave. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2203 W. Lincolnway, 2802 S. Center St., 1015 S. Fifth Ave., 312 S. Second St., 113 Bohen St., 101 Iowa Ave. W, 113 Bohen St., 1206 S. Seventh Ave. and 1509 S. Second Ave.
