• Hector Dario Hernandez Hernandez made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

• Dominique Da Shun Carroll, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Carroll is released on his promise to appear.

• Jennifer Michelle Nail made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Nail is released on her promise to appear.

• Taylor Elaine Sullivan made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

Incidents

• On Wednesday, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Wednesday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 800 block of South Center Street.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Josephine Estrada-Duenas, 51, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Wednesday, Eric Patlan, 19, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, a pickup driven by Kim Max Hornberg, 58, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Ninth Street when it was unable to stop and collided with the rear of a car driven by Michele Maria Torres, 40, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hornberg pickup was estimated at $500 while the Torres car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Wednesday, a car driven by Jose Anival Renderos, 48, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highway 14 at the intersection with Merle Hibbs Boulevard when it went through a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Sherman Lee White, 67, of Toledo. No injuries were reported. Renderos was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Renderos car was estimated at $3,500 while the White vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Jeremy Burnett, 41, was arrested for driving while license is denied or revoked, no valid driver’s license and driving under suspension.

• On Tuesday, Jeffrey Lang, 35, was arrested on a warrant charging him with driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Wednesday, Hector Hernandez Hernandez, 28, was arrested on a warrant charging him with two counts of violation of probation.

• On Wednesday, Taylor Sullivan, 23, was arrested on a warrant charging her failure to appear for a pre-trial conference.

Accidents

• On Feb. 13, a car driven by Megan Marie Koehn, 23, of Holy Cross, was eastbound on Highway 30 when the driver attempted to slow down and lost control attempting not to hit the vehicle in front of her and went off the south shoulder and slid into a snow bank resulting in front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Koehn car was estimated at $1,500.

• On Feb. 24, a vehicle driven by Jean Mahangaiko, 30, of Des Moines, was southbound on Marshalltown Boulevard when the driver lost control due to the snow on the shoulder pulling the vehicle into the ditch where it rolled onto the driver’s side before coming to rest. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mahangaiko vehicle was estimated at $1,000.

• On Feb. 27, a car driven by Kimberly Ann Stephen, 57, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Smith Avenue when the driver crested a hill and spotted a farm tractor and grain trailer attachment blocking the complete roadway. Stephen swerved toward the ditch to avoid making contact with the tractor and came to rest on the east side of the road stuck in a snow bank. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stephen car was estimated at $1,500.
