• Richard Scott Aschen made an initial appearance on a stalking charge and a harassment-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 18. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. Should Aschen make bond, he is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office and sign a pre-trial release agreement. Two no-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.

• Jessica Ann Head made an initial appearance on a failure to report to the Marshall County Jail to serve a 48 hour sentence. The magistrate ordered that Head be held until her sentence is completed.

• Patrick Byishimo made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a speeding charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on April 10 in Magistrate Court.

• Steven Terrell Thrift made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment charge. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The arraignment and plea have been filed with the court. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on April 12 with a jury trial scheduled at 9 a.m. on April 18 in District Associate Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Wiyual Mut Tip made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, an operating without an interlock device charge, a no insurance charge and an improper use of lanes charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 28. Tip is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by the end of work on Monday to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Jeremy Lee Burnett made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 28. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 280th Street and Reed Avenue, a gasoline or other flammable liquid spill at 1701 Iowa Ave. E and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1006 Ratcliffe Drive, 2802 S. Center St., 601 E. Church St. and 19 N. Center St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 914 Jackson St., a no incident found on arrival at dispatched address at 2605 S. Eighth St., a medical assist with the EMS crew to 408 N. 17th St., a false alaram or false call to 112 S. College St. and two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 2500 S. Center St. and the intersection of Highway 330 and Highway 30.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at 4 N. Fourth St. and State Street, a dispatched/cancelled en route to 402 N. 10th Ave. and 10 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3315 S. Center St., 1702 S. Seventh Ave., 503 E. Church St., 405 W. Church St., an assist an invalid at 207 NewCastle Road and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 207 NewCastle Road, 1701 S. Fifth St., 205 S. Center St., the intersection of 200 W. Grant St. and North Second Street, 612 E. Linn St., 1510 E. Olive St. and 1602 Summit St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dumpster or other outside trash receptacle fire at 13 N. 10th Ave., an extrication of victims from vehicle at 1600 Wallace Ave. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1110 Summit St., 1 W. Webster St., 107 1/2 N. Second St., 111 N. Seventh St., 207 Pine St. and 402 N. 10th Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two motor vehicle accidents with no injuries at the intersection of Second Avenue and Ingledue Street and 1600 W. Main St., three dispatched/cancelled en routes to: 101 NewCastle Road, 505 N. Fourth Ave. and 1516 E. Olive St. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 114 W. South St., 1312 W. Church St., 113 Bohen St., 910 E. Olive St. and 513 E. Olive St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a sprinkler activation due to a malfunction at 802 S. Center St., two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 2802 S.
