Impact Pro Wrestling show this Saturday
Local wrestler Austin Fouts will compete
Saturday night, only one wrestler will win the coveted IPW Heritage Championship. One man who is competing for the title is BCLUW graduate Austin Fouts.
Impact Pro Wrestling (IPW) will present its one-night tournament on Saturday, April 8, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, located at 20 W. State St. in Marshalltown, starting at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Fouts has wrestled for IPW since 2015, and he is excited to once again be able to show off his talents to the people of his native Marshalltown. He last appeared here in October 2015.
“I did the match in Marshalltown the first time because I was a local, and now my promoter said I need to come back,” Fouts said. “Marshalltown has quite a rich history of wrestling at the Coliseum that dates back to at least 1937.”
Fouts is one of four wrestlers who will complete in the tournament. “I’ll be wresting Aaron Von Baron, and Matty Star will wrestle UGLY, then the winners will wrestle each other,” Fouts said.
The show will also feature Miss Frankie Jay, Numero Uno and other fan favorites.
The wrestler, who is an independent contractor, has been busy traveling the Midwest making various appearances and participating in shows. As his day job, he works as a community living specialist for North Star. He is also a youth pastor in training. This summer he will try out at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Tickets for Saturday’s show are $12 for adults in advance, $15 at the door (as well as $15 for front row seating), kids ages 3-12 are $5, and kids under age three get in free of charge. The show will last around two hours.
IPW will return to Marshalltown on Saturday May 20.
