Movies in the Coliseum

Marshalltown Parks & Recreation announces free movies in the Coliseum. The Veterans Memorial Coliseum will host Summer Movies in the Coliseum Gym beginning at 7 p.m. The June 24 movie is “Sing” starring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly, as a group of animals who enter a singing competition, hosted by a koala hoping to save his theater.

“Sing” includes more than 60 songs and also has an original song by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande called “Faith,” which was nominated for a Golden Globe. The rest of the summer line-up include: “Trolls” on July 8, “Pete’s Dragon” on July 22, “The Jungle Book” is Aug. 5 and the last movie of the summer will be “The Secret Life of Pets” on Aug. 19.
