‘Planetarium: Space for Kids’ at Art Center

DES MOINES — Come to the Des Moines Art Center, 4700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, for an out-of-this world free family day to explore how art and the science of space converge from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 29. We will have hands-on activities for all ages and events throughout, including a speaker from the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and a Starlab indoor planetarium.

Drop in any time for hands-on activities in the studios: Pastel Galaxies / Brennan Studio 1; Astronauts in Space / Hubbell Studio 2; Space Photo booth / Principal Studio 5 and Stars in Jars / Principal Studio 6.

• 10-11 a.m. Search with Docents / Galleries

• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Constellations in the Starlab / Lobby

• 11 a.m. to Noon NASA Speaker / Levitt Auditorium

• 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kid’s lunch menu / Chef’s Palette

• 1-2 p.m. NASA Speaker / Levitt Auditorium

• 2-3 p.m. Search with Docents / Galleries
