Rachel R. Lewis made an initial appearance on an assault on a person in a certain occupation, jail staff, charge. The public defender’s office was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 24. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Christopher Krall made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Merrill Swartz was appointed as counsel. A parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by Krall’s parole officer. Krall is being held without bond.

Tracie Alma Rene McFarland made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A Rocket Docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Sept. 25 in Magistrate Court. McFarland was released on her promise to appear.

Jorge Luis Alvarado made an initial appearance on a contempt of court action for failure to pay fines and a driving under suspension charge. Christian Stickrod was appointed as counsel on the contempt action. A contempt hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Oct. 9. A Rocket Docket pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Sept. 25 in Magistrate Court in the driving charge. Alvarado was released on his promise to appear.

Robert L. Wallace made an initial appearance on a contempt of court-violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender’s office will continue as counsel. A contempt hearing will be scheduled by the Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Redmon Keahna made an initial appearance on a contempt of court charge. Breanna Nelson was appointed as counsel. A contempt hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 7. Keahna was released on his promise to appear.

Nathan Samuel Harned made an initial appearance with counsel, Chad Frese, on warrants charging him with operation without the owner’s consent and a possession of drug paraphernalia. The preliminary hearing has been waived. Harned was released on his promise to appear. The court ordered a substance abuse evaluation with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

Teyvon L. Lewis, of Fort Dodge, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31. Lewis was released on his promise to appear.

On Monday, Richard Wayne Samora was arrested on three warrants.

On Monday, Douglas Harry Hala was arrested on a warrant from another county.

On Monday, Savvanah Sara Ponce was arrested on a warrant.

On Aug. 7, Johnny Cortez Young was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

On Saturday, a pickup driven by Nicholas Feliciano Sverr Rael, of Marion, was eastbound on Highway 30 in the left lane when it drifted onto the shoulder, was overcorrected and went out of control entering the south ditch where it overturned once and came to rest on its wheels. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Rael pickup was estimated at $13,000.
